Can’t make fun of Tampa when we scored the same amount of runs in 2 games. Sorry, RUN in two games.

One can only hope. Chapman needs to go. I would seriously explore trading Vladdy or you bring in a new hitting coach and give it one more season.

Schneider should be fired as well.

They over-rotated on it but the team defense, pitching and bullpen were what people wanted tk improve and they really succeeded at that.

Problem is in the end Vlad, Chapman, Varsho etc didn't provide the expected power bats this year
I don’t really disagree and Vlad falling off like he did is hard to blame Atkins for. But the angle I would add is if you were relying on Chapman, Varsho and Kirk to be a bulk of the offense or fills gaps you were making a risky bet. Can’t be that surprised how it turned out

Davis Schneider, In just 35 games:

.404 OBP (team high)
1.008 OPS (team high)
175 OPS+ (highest on the team by a country mile)
8 HR (37 HR pace - team high pace)
20 (93 RBI pace)
12 2B (56 2B pace)
1.8 WAR (8+ WAR, team high pace)

Perfectly healthy & well rested, and plays a position that isn't already occupied by another star player. Also was the player responsible for saving the Jays entire season.

How did he do in the playoffs you might ask?

He didnt get one ####ing at-bat.

I'm done

A team that is managed by Schneider and has Vlad in a prominent role is always going to be mediocre. They both choke in big situations.

Great managers and great players live for the big moments.

Falling into the playoffs instead of winning to clinch is always a bad sign. John Schneider sucks, and the young stars are turning into playoff pumpkins.

To be fair, the last 15 games or so when teams got video on him and adjusted their strategy, he sucked to say the least.

I get all that, but wasn’t he like 0-31 in the last while? He was pretty well neutralized after the early success. I still maybe would’ve tried to find a spot for him but still think overall this team was no good.

Yeah…Davis Schneider pretty much turned into a pumpkin once the magic wore off. The fact that we were so desperate that we needed to look to Schneider as a saviour is pretty damning.

Echoed, but pitching was solid all season and in this series, from starters to relievers. Really, Gausman had one bad pitch yesterday where he missed badly and it was a 2r hr.

Game of inches as also mentioned. If Chapman hits it 5 more feet yesterday he's the hero who ties the game, and hooks it 18 inches less today with the bases loaded, it scores 2 or 3 runs to tie or take the lead today.

Belt only was going for HR this series and really since he came back from injury.

Kirk is great catcher but the team missed Jansen's bat and plate appearances big time the last month.

Should have played the Rays.

AL East best division is baseball.

Good players go in to slumps. What did the rest of the team do? Did you see how Merrifield and Chapman were two of the bottom 10 worst hitters in baseball post all star break?

Schneider also had 2 hits to break out of that slump on the final day of the season, which may have boosted his confidence for the playoffs.

This is kinda like karma for wanting to desire a weaker opponent.

If your want to be the best, you gotta beat the best. Doesn't matter who the opponent is, you take on anyone in the way, and fear no one. The road doesn't get easier with each progressive series.

But with Jays anemic offense, they would've lost to Rays too. They backed into playoffs, which is never a good thing.

I don't think it would have mattered. They would have found a way to lose.

Changes should start being made as soon as tomorrow.
