Absolutely, this.

I'd say that's a safe bet, doubt anyone offers him 12 x 7.
But like others have said if the cap we'll offer is 10.5 x 8, but Gaudreau won't accept less than 11 x 8, I think you cave for the extra 500k.
But who knows, maybe the sticking point is the bonus structure instead of guaranteed money.

Nahh, let the Oilers make the mistake of signing both Kadri and Kane.
As much as I like Kadri, he's going to get overpaid on the UFA market, and he's already north of 30.

Stupid SN, keep getting notifications about which terrible goalie the Leafs have signed and which goalie with worse numbers than Smith the Oilers are spending all their cap on.

No doubt tampering exists.
Friedman and Marek were talking about it in regards to Letang. PIT offered him $6Mx6 because it was known another team was unofficially offering $9Mx4.
They've explained in the past all it takes is for an agent and GM to have vague conversations where a GM expresses their desire to sign a talented LWer and what sort of capspace they'd have to do so.

- Monahan suffered a series of injuries. When they signed the deal they weren't signing a 4th liner and for most of the contract he was strong.
So yes the Neal thing was an error. But one that had a rationale behind it.
The 20/20 thing on Monahan is irritating. As if the Flames should have anticipated his injuries.
|
Okay, Monahan wasn't a great example, but I do believe in the general premise that this franchise pays heavy for middle six and sometimes bottom line players. I realize some of that is our location, but yeah I'd be down for paying heavier to have a star or two and then being forced to be more cost effective lower down the line-up.

Hayes and Gaudreau are the best of friends, so I’m sure Hayes is in his ear as well, about playing together.

And the reference to Terrible wasn’t about you observing Gaudreauvertime being here
Just a general musing - with the amount of activity, and a cap on thanks, he’d have to be selective
Too bad gaudreauvertime is in the sin bin, that could add some entertainment

Do the Devils or Flyers have any important RFAs this year that the Flames can offer sheet out of spite if this goes poorly?

Any chance of giving Johnny an 8 year contract but an out after 4 years with a guarantee trade to the East?

Jesper Bratt on Jersey 73 pts in 77 games last year but what compensation are you willing to give up in order to do this?

why? There is an 8 year deal on the table already and if Johnny wanted to move in 4 years he could request that

Flyers, no.
Devils have Bratt, Zacha, Boqvist, Wood this year, Sharangovich & Smith next year.
But Treliving doesn't strike me as an offer sheet guy.

I find it very odd that the flames would be giving out high level contract talk details in a general meeting. They're right though that no one is beating 84. My guess is that beats a Flyers offer by nearly 15 million.
