I’ll give them zero kudos. Speaking up when it’s no longer politically pragmatic to stay silent isn’t admirable, it’s cowardly. Grow a spine.
“Oh no but if I said something one of the trump acolytes would take my spot!” There are two things with that. First off if you’re silently complicit you’re no better than a vocal true believer and secondly maybe you shouldn’t have spent a decade plus fostering an environment where this becomes the norm. Just a thought. Take your late in the game change of heart and choke on it Paul.

It's Mitch, and not really that close. (maybe Newt).
There are dozens of people who would have done what Barr did at the time.
There are dozens of occasions where Mc Connell could have pulled the plug and the republicans would have been no worse off for it. But he continued, as long a was able to high-jack the levers of power.

Ugh...please god, no. For the betterment of everyone, Trump needs to disappear, leave America the f*** alone, and just live out the rest of his short, pathetic life spending the millions he suckered out of his dumbass supporters.
Considering the dozens of lawsuits and investigations that he's about to be smacked with, I wouldn't be shocked to see him flee the country after Jan. 20th. I think this talk of him running in 2024 is nothing but a grift in order to keep the MAGA cult pouring money into his personal slush fund.

It makes for a legitimate dilemma in that position. If you are a moderate Republican who is disgusted with what's happening, is it more effective to stick around to quietly push against that crap, or speak out and get replaced with a hard line supporter?
I'll give these guys a small kudos for speaking out for the right thing even without much to lose.

The Republican party needs new life in leadership or they'll be toast by the time the next election comes around, If the leadership still includes punch-able faces like McConnell, Cruz, McCarthy, Jordan and Nunes in four years they will have zero chance.
I think some young injection of new blood is needed, a guy like Adam Kinzinger who is likeable, smart, has stood up to Trump and survived is the type the party needs to look at.

Sorry, but if the last 4 years have proven anything, it's that the more deplorable you are as a Republican candidate, the better chance you stand of getting elected. How many million people voted for Trump? 74? Look at the amount of people that think this election is rigged.
Not a chance the GOP leadership is gone in 4 years unless someone grows some and charges them for sedition.

Agreed. Republicans set a record for votes for an incumbent, regained seats in the house, and thus far maintained their lead in the Senate.
There’s a lot of right wing Americans who enjoy the punchable faces in leadership.
The solution is to reinstall integrity to all senior levels, hire competent people, shore up laws and loopholes Trump exposed, and investigate Trump and his cronies at the state level for his innumerable crimes, since he’ll blanket pardon himself and everybody in his graces federally before Jan 20.
Do not let him escape justice via a fair trail, cause if not four years from now there may no longer be fair trails in that country.

You're right. The Republican voters are the true problem and have made the GOP leadership irrelevant. The populist movements like the Tea Party and Trumpism took over the party. They'll vote for their guy for the nomination regardless if he has a good chance of winning or not.
They'll become more and more a fringe party and will shed supporters, and there's nothing really anyone can do about it if the majority of Republicans stay that course.

A genuinely good man? LOL, he’s a disgusting piece of filth who cares more for his golf handicap (aided by cheating) than he does about some 3,000 dead Americans each day.

I thought that tweet was in jest and trump had been duped by sarcasm until i saw who tweeted it. When did real life become satire?

McConnell finally acknowledges Biden as president-elect. If he had done this a month ago, it might have actually put a stop to Trump and Giuliani's ridiculous and seditious bulls***.
God he's such a f'n arsehole.

I know it won’t happen but I wish some of these people would be tried for sedition and treason. What some are going to with these attacks on the constitution and the government basically is really toeing the line close to civil war ####. I know nothing with happen but I wish it would. I’m glad the courts have basically laughed in Trumps face but it’s annoying we have to rely on those people to protect democracy. Also Roberts while I don’t love the guy is not the worst republican to be leading the Supreme Court. With the Republican Party going further and further right he’s looking more liberal every day and I’m glad he’s in charge instead of real right wing entrenched thinkers like Thomas or Alito.

He also deliberately said "the electoral college has spoken" and nothing about the people speaking. #### this guy.
