Yeah you can't get caught sleeping on a leadoff double pinch running scenario.

Just brutal

And TBH I don't like the decision to take out Santander there anyways - he's not that slow that you can't score him from 2nd with no outs.

To me the Jays have exceeded expectations. They have largely continued the same style and play from last year, with some shuffling of the chairs. Santender is disappointing, no matter how you cut it with early season difficulties, so I do hope when he breaks out of this slump, the team is that much better because so far it's been disappointing to see the runners left on base. It's still an anti-clutch team, but the results ultimately have been there when the game is done, so I'll give them credit for that.

Hoffman in for Romano looks like a brilliant call at this point. Considering Vlad and Bo have 0 home runs thru 16 games. Having a 9-7 record thus far is a bit surprising.

Yeah I feel bad for Romano, but he looks cooked and Hoffman has been outstanding so far.

Yeah they saw something they didn't like and reneged on the deal.

Looks like a bad choice so far

It's always hard to know with stuff like that. It's sort of like a home inspection condition in a real estate purchase. After a full body/home scan you find something every time, but was it a big deal or did they just get cold feet.

Usually means they found something that made them worried how long his arm holds up

He got a 3 year deal and he’s 5 innings into it . I don’t think the teams failing him were worried about the first 5 innings . It’s how long before his arm
Falls off (if it does)

In the Orioles defence, didn't Atlanta also walk away for that reason?

There is probably something there and the Jays decided it wasn't an issue.

Varsho will be back soon, he's playing full games next week. They'll have to send someone down when he gets back. It seems pretty likely that it'll be Schneider that gets sent down.
