It has all the elements of a Lewis book (or at least a major subplot to a Lewis book). I mean he basically writes books about economics... he just cloaks that fact by dressing them up and this would be a story about economics with an extensive wardrobe.

A telecom giant, celebrity/billionaires, a hollywood agent, career baseball men, a mercurial foreign superstar... wrapped up in a cloud of secrecy with an multinational (Canada/Japan/U.S.) aspect. Yeah... Michael Lewis could write the #### outta that story.

Apparently going through his twitter feed shows this guy has hit on some big signings...

I haven't gone through it myself though, and not many followers.

Has a similar story arc to the Jordan ‘Air’ movie from earlier this year.

Everyone assumed it was Adidas all along, but Nike hit him where the heart is.

Not going to lie. This is at the point if it doesn't happen I'm going to be utterly devastated.

I'll be curled up in the fetal position rocking in a corner repeating "This was always the most likely conclusion" for a hour or two.

This thread will be so fun to read back on if we get him.

If we don't get him, I'm going to need some space for a while

Oh man. Between the plane tracking on twitter and "reports" of Kikuchi reserving for 50+ at a sushi place near rogers for tonight, this is getting downright ridiculous. At this point it better happen just for my sanity.

I can just picture it.

Ohtani comes out, signs the contract and then the Dodgers music starts. Out comes the Dodgers GM. Ohtani delivers a stunner to Atkins and turns the contract over to reveal the Dodgers logo.

Don’t you dare say a bad word about Jomboy. He’s the best thing in sports highlights these days. He’s a Yankees fan, but just loves baseball.

Will they boo him in Toronto if he ends up staying in Los Angeles?

Jomboy and the company he has built has been very important in brining in millennial and Gen Z fans to baseball. He passionately loves baseball and the content they create is fun and engaging.

I love his breakdown videos. He doesn’t make fun of anyone, and his stuff is just fun and funny. I’ve never really been able to watch a lot of baseball, but the rule changes and his videos made it so approachable.

There was one video he did for the NLCS where he showed the process of setting a particular pitch up by doing overlays of multiple pitches. It was amazing.

Full on Kawhi 2.0 right now. Out of curiousity I checked the flight history of that private plane everyone is talking about on flighttracker. The last recorded flights were to/from Hawaii a few days ago. Ohtani's girlfriend is from there interestingly enough.

Still feels too good to be true but definitely lots of smoke.

I'm not sure that flight tracking his girlfriend and doxing the surprise party for his friend's wife is a good way to convince him that playing in Toronto would be great.
