Or start with a Cayman/Boxster, and see where it goes. Something like a 987 is really hard to beat for value, and will give you pretty much everything but the prestige. My first was a used bare-as-bones base-Cayman, and it was still a great car and by far the best thing I tested in my price range at the time (new or used). I still pine for that car sometimes.

Sure but it needs to be a DD except in the worst of weather (even with proper winter tires). So that means a 4S.
Somewhat risk averse though too, had a warranty still on the S6 when it sold. I know I won’t have that luxury with the vintage of Porsche so will take that into consideration in pricing.
Nothing within 6 hours currently that I can tell, and while I enjoy the hunt, I’ve also been needing a car for a month or so. BMW 850 has been on the radar too, totally different car.
