Not sure if the Flames will offer up their retention slot for the next 3 years.

I'd do it if the cost to take on retention was arseni gritsyuk, but I really like the "pest that can score" player type. Return is usually a pick for these services, but I'd prefer a more established prospect.

The Flames giving up a retention spot to help the team they are fighting for a playoff spot with would be an interesting choice. Not sure I have ever heard of the 8th place team helping out the 9th place team before.

0 points for lindholm. On pace for 12g/38 pts.

Thank God that bullet dodged us.

5 more seasons after this season, is a long time to tie up 1/3 retention spots and have dead money on the salary cap. The Flames would need to receive a lot of compensation to make that worth it, but I at least hope we hear that the Flames looked into it. I want to see the Flames use cap space to acquire more futures.

Yup we should thank him for dodging us.

Not this current management who is hell bent on loading us up with an Andersson extension.

Definitely not as connected to Vancouver news but I’m told Miller will be moved.

There was a deal in place earlier but it’s still not complete.
I’m not sure if he suits up tonight.

HNIC:

JT Miller is expected to play tonight (unless something changes last minute), but at one point he wasn't going to play because a trade was progressing
Friedman says he believes it was with the Rangers
That trade is off right now

Canucks sent out memo warning teams not to talk to their players without permission
Friedman believes some teams have been given permission to talk to Miller

Pettersen has told the Canucks he wants to stay.
Canucks preference is to keep Pettersen.

Flames game that was postponed in LA will likely be played on April 17

I'm glad that VAN - NJD deal is not happening.

Maybe JT said NYR only. And now VAN just has to take whatever crap they can get for him.

Bet it's K'Andre Miller is it's NYR. Wonder what this year's value is for helping retain dollars.

I think GMCC has set the price high and I'm OK if he keeps it there. Only so many slots.

I just dont get why the Rangers would spend good assets for miller.

They're near the bottom of the league and already have tons of drama.

Miller is signed for 6 more years until 37.
It feels like a high risk move that could blow up quickly.

I think the Rangers miss Miller. And seems perfect for the pot of boiling oil that is the Rangers....

Pot of boiling oil, mett frozen Turkey.

I am thinking Brayden Schneider. Been reported the Canucks love him.

As for Nemec, he still has a ton of potential, but he's now played over 100 AHL games. Pretty high for #2 pick.
Mercer is playing on a stacked team at center with little PP time, on a team like the Flames he would take over as #1 center and likely pop.

Doesn’t have to be a third team retaining, to me it’s more like someone taking a cap dump player from the Rangers.

But he's likely not a number one centre so we just end up overpaying him again in a couple years.
