Regardless of recent events, E is still NG.

E(NG) fans are so out to lunch. All over FB celebrating scraping by a rebuilding Flames team. Flames could have easily won the game too, Coleman alone had 3 high danger chances.

They took advantage of a sleeping Flames team early, but as soon as the guys in red found their legs Edmonton looked like the 2nd best team on the ice, and pretty well for the rest of the night.

I wouldn't get a big head about that one if I were a bumonton mouth breather.

Thought I'd check out the Oilers game. To watch them get slaughtered of course. Game isn't on TV. When is the last time flames or oilers game wasn't on Sportsnet? It's not even on Sportsnet Oilers.

But when you look at the people running it: President Bob Nicholson, Executive Director Wayne Gretzky, Assistant Executive Director Kevin Lowe, Director of Player Personnel Steve Tabmellini...

Iginla probably should've been on the initial roster but really it was that camp and the 2001/2002 season where he broke out as a truly elite player.

Watched a bit of it tonight. Basically Sportsnet briadcast (and ads) with a different cover. Lipstick on a pig.

Has there ever been a first to worst for any sort of special teams unit year over year? Who would have thought trading your best penalty killing forwards would have major implications on the effectiveness of the PK? Good thing NHL teams hire competent GM's to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen.

Good thing they brought in Skinner and Arvidsson to account for those plugs Foegele, Holloway and McLeod. Continuously amazes me how clueless that management is, how do they not see it.

On another note, have the Oilers got a point from a team over 0.500 (outside of the rebuilding Flames)?

Don't forget shipping out Ceci so they could not match Broberg.

Survey says...they have not. I know it is still early, but their 6 wins have come from the .542 (Flames), .500 (Red Wings), .423 (Pens), .375 (Preds) x2, and .375 (Flyers).

So expect their next win to be next week against the Islanders. Good news for the Oilers they play the Preds again just after that Islanders game.

No, they haven't. And in fact Calgary is only at .500 in w/l (the Flames have one extra point for the OTL).

Oilers also have the 2nd worst GF/GA ration in the division.

Just saw the scores from last night, lol. Of course as soon as the Oilers play a decent team, they get exposed for the frauds that they are. Vegas will probably demolish them as well, provided they show up.

Edmonton is no good.

I must say, the sheer number of teams that do not show up for the Oilers is insanely frustrating. Hell, even in the playoffs, every team last year gifted them 2 games they shouldn't have had. I don't understand it.
