Dimitrov won a total of five points in set 2 - That's five points more than I would have won lol

Wow, Lorenzo Musetti gets his first ever win over Oikos and also makes his first ever Masters 1000 semi-final coming back from a set down to win in three. Stef had 24 winners, but also 45 unforced errors. The serve and forehand went AWOL in set 3.

I guess it's not the racquet's fault after all.

Monte-Carlo final will be Charlie vs. Lorenzo - Really good match between Demon and Lorenzo finished just now with Musetti coming back from a set down to win in a 3rd set tie-breaker. Looking forward to the Sunday final, I give the Italian a good chance to win the match, he'll certainly have the crowd behind him.

The Canadians came up a bit short last name versus Japan losing the tie 2-1. Victoria Mboko continues to impress winning her singles match, however Marina Stakusic lost her match. It came down to the doubles and Rebecca and Kayla fought hard, but ultimately lost in three sets. They still have a chance to qualify for the finals via a play-off later this year.

Lorenzo had a really tough week from a physical standpoint and was clearly nursing something as the match wore on today.

Shapo just lost the 1st set to a 17 year old German lucky loser who is ranked outside the top 500.
Edit: Denis has checked out of this match, this is Tomic level tanking.

Shapo just retired with an apparent thumb injury (it appeared like they were trying to put some kind of support on his thumb).

Was the thumb injury apparent or was this just an excuse to avoid embarrassment?

Tough to say EE, he did inform the umpire to call the physio in the penultimate game of the match.

I should add that the way Denis was playing, he wasn't going to win today. He was just swinging for the fences on every shot and just looked disinterested after losing the opening set in a tie-break.
Edit: Tom Tebbutt with further details

Shapo not to be outdone by Felix crashing out right after him in Munich. 68 unforced errors in a three set match is pretty incredible. But hey, let's keep the same coach because he's doing wonders for my game.

Sigh. It appears that last decade was the golden age for Canadian tennis.

It's easy to forget that both Shapo and Felix are still young in their respective tennis careers, but it just feels like both guys are spinning their wheels and not making any progress. If you're not advancing, you're falling behind.

How about some positive tennis news for a change? Liam Draxl made it all the way to the Sarasota Challenger final last week and a new career high ranking in the process and Alexis Galarneau earlier today delivered a double bagel to his opponent.
