Worst draft ever!
But really, this has been an awful cherry on top of a terrible season to be a flames fan. Boring hockey, boring coach, boring team, boring draft...
Yet I still managed to get excited leading up to every part, all for to get let down again and again.

You know how this is going to go right?
There will be one of those players left on your list when the Flames pick comes up and they will take someone else!

The fact a few of you seem think this weekend needed to provide entertainment value you to like you are owed it is a curious one.
If there wasn't a smart move to be made I'm glad it's been a quiet draft for us so far.

Didn't think Shafigulen or whatever was going to go this high. One more off the list.

Maybe not making any moves is the way to win a cup now? Iirc Washington didn’t make much moves.
It may not be considered the big move we wanted, but a new coach and AC’s is already big enough. Treliving probably doesn’t want to make any big moves until he sees how the new coaching staff does.

Which is the exact opposite of what he has been saying. Interesting take.

I get the frustration but they didn't have the ammo to be part of the draft without moving players, and clearly he hasn't seen anything that he's thought good enough to make a move.
So I understand the human nature of action, I do wonder about the anger, as I think it's misguided and a little immature, but I get it in theory.
I'd rather have a day of zero action than a bad trade go down. There are GMs in the circuit that make moves to make sure they make a move, or to keep their jobs. Quiet means good decisions are made.

San Jose just got my #1 target
Hopefully #2 will still be there but I don't see the Flames going for a small Finnish D if he's there

The Jets also don't make any big moves and have slowly developed into a contender.
The key for the Flames really rests in the development of Jankowski and Bennett. These guys have to take the next step into becoming second liners and top sixers. If they don't, Flames have to acquire them via other means.
If Jankowski and Bennett can both put up between 40 to 50 points, next year and with the continued production of Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuck, Ferland, Backlund, Hamilton, Giordano, Brodie, then this team will be fine.

Since there's literally nothing to hear from anyone else, EK says JVRS rights are in play and the Flames are in on them.

Joey Keane and Logan Hutsko were on my list, and they went 88 and 89.

Well, even if he’s been saying something different he hasn’t made any significant changes as of late.
