While Lucas had his explosive rings, JJ has his lens flares, just wait until Luke Skywalker takes on Luuke Skywalker, they both fire up their lightsabres and the screen explodes with 60 lens flares, and every time the light sabres collide, lens flare.
Michael Bay has his explosions, JJ lens flares.
And I think that no matter what happens, the expectations are going to be so freaking high because this is suppossed to repair the damage done by the prequels (though I liked aspects of the prequel) that it can't help but not meet expectation.
The Star Wars fan base is not only rabid. But the real hard core fans will rip apart anything that doesn't jive with their knowledge and vision.
there will also be a split in the fan base between the EU and anti-EU people.
OMG how can you not have Grand Admiral Thrawn in this movie, he was like awesome. And Plageous is the greatest most intriguing villian of all time. And Jedi can throw star destroyers across the galaxy with a flick of their finger.
while the Anti-EU - Thrawn was a lame villain who lost every battle he fought, Plageous is completely dead and nowhere in the movie did Jedi destroy star destroyers. This movie sucks because the sand on Tatoinne is the wrong color.
You get my drift.
If I was a director, I would never ever do a Star Wars movie, no matter how well you do, this movie is going to be screamed down.
