Calgary MetalFest in September has 4 legendary Canadian Metal bands performing. Annihilator, Exciter, Razor and Sacrifice. Will be amazing to see Jeff Waters and Dave Carlo live.

I would be going, but tickets are $89 for a Flames Central show! That's absolutely absurd.

I don't have a problem with Radiohead, other than not liking their music, but I just don't understand why they're "the big get" every year for festivals.

Cause they haven't been genuinely relevant in 16 years so they're probably cheap, but they still play well and it's "cool" to like them so people say they do even though I bet 95% of the people seeing Radiohead play at these massive festivals can't name anything Radiohead related besides "Ok Computer" and "Creep".

I also think a part of it is that compared to other acts Radiohead just doesn't play that many shows, they aren't embarking on these monster 30 date North American tours or 50+ date world tours.
Going back to 2010 it appears Radiohead has played 95 shows total worldwide in the last 6 years, which compared to acts like The Red Hot Chilli Peppers ( 239) or Coldplay( 291) makes Radiohead shows relativity scarce.

Those guys put out a lot of content still. How many albums has radiohead had, 1? They are basically legacy touring.

Since 2010 Radiohead has had two albums released, same as RHCP and Coldplay. Plus there's that whole Radiohead's discog is at least 3 times better than RHCP and Coldplay's combined discog thing too.

Sounds like they are playing Coachella this year as well.
I'm not the biggest fan - but I get why they are headlining. While they are definitely a legacy act at this point, they have a pretty die hard fan base that travels to see them and they still put on a great show.

I shouldn't really bitch. I'm starting to hit the "I don't know any of these bands" phase of my festival career. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing because I end up discovering some pretty cool music at festivals but it's pretty hard to get me pumped to go blow $500 on a Coachella ticket when I maybe know a dozen bands there.

Contact festival in Vancouver looks sweet:
Although I think my two day rave days are behind me. I feel like I'd be over it after day 1 now.
