So the Leafs still need a backup, at least one defenceman, at least one top-9 forward, and a some depth. And no money left?

Huberdeau
Sharangovich
Kuzmenko
Kadri
Zary
Pospisil
Coronato
Backlund
Coleman

That's your top 9.

Why are we in the market trying to add forwards? Who are we pushing back down the depth chart?

That isn't even pencilling in a top 9 role for Pelletier. I don't want any of our younger players stuck on the 4th line.

Yup, they weren’t getting along for awhile there.

I suspect they're going to shuffle the deck chairs a bit. Moving Mang was one part in making room for Pelts.
I'd wager that more changes will come as they eat some bad contracts for more assets.

I suspect Conroy trades 2 of those forwards who are older than 25 this season. Maybe 3. That means they will need other forwards.

Sam Steel was in the same boat, but I see he’s being cut loose today…

When did Sam Steel play for Torts?

I guess it depends when those trades are made though. Sharangovich and Kuzmenko are pending UFAs and I have no issue in capitalizing on their value at the trade deadline.

Sign Bertuzzi for 1-2 years at an overpay, deal him for a first at the deadline to a contender with salary retained. Easy assets.

No QO for Hayton.

I'd throw him a bone if I was Conroy.

The initial report was incorrect; he did receive one.

I would definitely be in on him if I was Conroy. The exact type of player the Flames could overpay for on a one year contract. If it works out try to sign him long term, if it does not all it costs is money.

So bring in soon to be 29 year old Duclair and 28 year old DeBrusk? Let’s see how that plays out.

Based on the thread Salim just posted on X it seems like he thinks Monahan is the player the Flames will go back after and he thinks they make moves to try and fight for the wildcard next year
