You can negotiate on almost any brand - the trick is the market you're buying it in.
For example, I don't think you're going to have much leverage negotiating for a Patek from Brinkhaus... they're the only ones in western Canada who sell them. On the flip side, I'm in Dallas right now and was told - without asking - that they would negotiate on a brand new AP, which is as exclusive a brand as Patek, but the difference being I could go to Houston and buy one there if I desired.
Margins are thin for some. Just remember brands like rolex, panerai, etc won't be able to budge much.
Most brands you can probably get 15%. When I was working in the jewelry business I was able to give lesser brands up to 30%. Brands like Omega was, at best, 10%. Even Tissot was only 15%.
Oh every few months I go on a Speedmaster Co-axial kick, then talk myself out of it. I assume one of these times I won't be able to talk myself out of it.
Heading down to the US again soon. Never managed to get to the Omega boutique on my trip to NY, thought I'd check the one in Vegas. Just curious as to if the local AD would deal, since the boutique won't.

AP makes great watches but not in the same league as Patek. Patek and Vacheron are untouchables in the watch world. There are a lot more good deals to be found around US and Europe for AP watches. None for Patek and Vacheron. I mean, there are very expensive watches made by pretty much every big watch brand but no other brand is respected as much as those too.
Regardless, buying a watch in that price range is always better done in person. Stores in New York, New Jersey and Florida carry big selections. 300watches.com is both a web-site and the store. You can negotiate a price over the phone and then pick it up in person to avoid shipping risks.

Honestly, just buy the Speedy. It's such a timeless watch...Ive had mine for 3 years now, and I still love it every time i put it on. If I only had one watch for the rest of my life, I would be totally satisfied with the Speedy.
Just don't get one of those cheeseball racing versions.
The omega boutique definitely won't deal, and there is no official dealer in NY anymore outside of it. You should contact one of those guys on Watchuseek like I told you!

Lol no, it'll be the steel on black leather.

That's likely the route I'm going. I figured the second I do that is the second I pull the trigger though.
Buy it with the SS bracelet. The bracelets are really expensive on their own, so it's better to buy it now case you ever want to wear it like that (or to sell it). Just buy an additional leather strap for it and swap it out. NATO straps look great with the Speedy as well.
Personally, the surgical steel of the bracelet is one of my favorite features of Omegas. That's one of the most obvious quality differences between an them and a cheaper brand.

Yeah, not sure if the guy is still there who helped me get in touch with the preferred AD (who I also believe no longer is around), but saving a lot more, paying in US$ (not sure if the US/CAD MSRP are still far off as they were when I got my PO 5+ years ago) and all the other things they did for a smooth and cheaper cross border transaction, was well well worth it.
Not getting anywhere near those deals with local dealers, or with the official boutique. Went to the one in the Bellagio last month, and while its nice to see most models, you're never getting a deal, and some of the AD's have new old stock (NOS) at very good prices, which an official boutique will never carry.
