Fanjoy still ahead by just over 2,000 votes. Still 46 polls left to report.

That longest ballot crap needs to be put to rest. What does it even accomplish? Only reason they're still counting in Carleton

Am I the only one who thinks that the attractive woman behind and to the right of Carney, to us, looks a fair bit like Monica Lewinsky?
That's just a silly observation.
Pretty good speech to get things started.

How do you propose to exclude people from running?

Feels like the counting has really slowed down, it's really weird to see and a bit frustrating, one of the ridings here in kelowna is on a knife's edge with the Liberal 66 seats up and 2 polling stations left. And the riding in NFLD where the liberal came back has had one station left to report for over an hr. Wonder if the last "polling station" involves them going over ballots that weren't clear or something?

According to Elections Canada the turnou/vote count hasn't hit 60% yet. In 2021 it was just over 62%. I'll be really surprised if turnout is not well over 66%.

He won the riding in 2015 as well. Kelowna south was a more solid Conservative win 21k to 17k but I'd say it's becoming quite competitive here compared to when I first moved out, these aren't ridings the Conservatives can take for granted anymore.

No, they need to keep doing it until we get the promised electoral reform.
65% of Albertans voted for the Conservatives, yet the Conservatives will represent 92% of Albertans.

^ This. In order to run, a candidate should be required to provide a petition with at least 500 signatures of people in the riding pledging to vote for that person.

Not entirely, in most issues the Bloc will vote with them anyway and that's assuming the Tories dont fall apart
