He looks massive in those clips. Tage Thompson stuff.

Parehk on Dec 30th had a 3 assist night and finished the month/calendar year with a stat line of

30gp/11g/29a/40pts +8, 47 PIM

His current stat line is

50gp/27g/56a/83pts +37, 71 PIM

So since the start of January he’s gone

20gp/16g/27A/43pts +29, 24 PIM

The current 66 game pace he’s playing at is a 142 points… bonkers

Using his 2025 rate of production, he'd project to another 40 points for a total of 123.

After his "slow" start of 15 P in 15 GP, he's played the last 35 games at a 1.94 PPG pace. That would be a 66-game season total of 128 points. That would be 2nd most, ever. Insane.

Saginaw has 13 GR. Using the same pace as the past 35 games, he could get another 25 points and finish with 108. 109 ties him top 5 of all-time for an OHL defenseman.

I bet he finishes with 110 for sole possession of 5th all-time.

Feb.21st:

Misa gets 2a, and was even (8/21 in faceoffs), in a 4-3 OT loss to London. He is tied for 12th in scoring, and 13th in plus/minus, with 55gp/32g/43a/75pts,+36, 4 PIM. Knights' D Sam Dickinson was first star, with 4 points- including the game-winner.

Battaglia was first star, with 1g, 2a, and a +1 in a 4-2 win over Brantford. He is 11th in scoring, with 55gp/33g/43a/76pts,+10, 26 PIM.

Mews picked up 1g, and was +2 in an 8-1 victory over Owen Sound. He is tied for 15th-overall in scoring, and second in scoring by D, with 55gp/14g/59a/73pts,-6, 66 PIM.

Morin somehow gets no points, and was +1 in a 6-0 win over Cape Breton. He is tied for 16th-overall in plus/minus, and is 4th in scoring by D, with 51gp/11g/33a/44pts,+27, 30 PIM. Only 10 points in the last 19 games, since the start of January. Only 3 points in 8 February games.

Gridin did not play in a 5-0 victory over Acadie-Bathurst. He is tied for 11th in scoring, and is 15th in plus/minus, with 49gp/29g/37a/66pts,+28, 27 PIM.

No Hurtig again for the Hitmen, who beat Brandon, 5-0.

All zeroes for Laing in a 3-2 OT win over Red Deer. 53gp/18g/16a/34pts,+13, 31 PIM.

Jamieson gets 1a, and was +2 in a 4-1 win over Portland. He is tied for 7th-overall in plus/minus, with 56gp/12g/20a/32pts,+36, 55 PIM.

Lipinski gets 2g, 2a, and was +5 (16/23 in faceoffs) in a 5-1 win over Kelowna. Somehow, he is NOT named one of the three stars of the game, while two members of the Rockets are named Star #1, and #3- with 1 point and a -3 between them. 46gp/12g/34a/46pts,-1, 30 PIM.

The Flames have been drafting a lot of skill lately. Long ways since Sutter drafting fridges out of Cremona

Looking at it, I think it might be a scorekeeper error. The guy who was named first star (0 points, 1 shot, -1) is #15 for the Rockets (same number as Lipinski). I think they got the player number right but screwed up the team.

Or maybe I'm giving them too much credit. This is hardly the first time the three stars in a CHL game have made no sense at all.

I could see either scenario.

I think it’s a good sign that I’m disappointed when Parekh ONLY scores 1 goal in a game.

Morin was a +6 today for Moncton. Scored a sweet goal too.

Feb.23rd:

Parekh gets 2a, and was even, in a 7-3 loss to Windsor. He is 7th-overall in scoring, 1st-overall in scoring by D, and 13th in plus/minus, with 52gp/28g/58a/86pts,+36, 77 PIM.

1a, and a -4 (!) for Battaglia, in a 5-1 loss to Oshawa. He is tied for 11th in scoring, with 57g/33g/44a/77pts,+6, 32 PIM.

Morin gets 1g, 2a, and was +6 (!) in a 10-1 shellacking of Victoriaville. He is tied for 8th-overall in plus/minus, and is 3rd in scoring by D, with 52gp/12g/35a/47pts,+33, 30 PIM.

No Gridin, as Shawinigan beats Saint John, 4-1.

No points for Lipinsky, who was -1, and went 9/22 on faceoffs. 48gp/12g/35a/47pts,-2, 32 PIM.

He must have been first star with a stat line like that.

Steven Ellis on the top 10 NHL prospects in the Q

https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/to...oirier-guimond

Quote:
Matvei Gridin, RW (Calgary Flames)
Team: Shawinigan Cataractes

Gridin was the USHL’s point leader a year ago, and his scoring prowess has continued over to the Q. He’s on pace for just fewer than 40 goals and 90 points with Shawinigan as Shawinigan’s top player. The winger is the lone NHL-drafted prospect on the team, and he’s almost always involved in the team’s high-end offensive plays. I think he also seems more engaged away from the puck, despite it still being a work in progress. Overall, Flames fans have to be happy about his play after using a first-rounder on him last summer.

Étienne Morin, D (Calgary Flames)
Team: Moncton Wildcats

Morin hasn’t been able to match his 72-point production from his draft year in 2023, but the Wildcats star hasn’t been any less impactful. In fact, he has been one of the best overall blueliners while averaging around 23-24 minutes a night. So much of the hype around him early on was because he had to play close to 30 minutes a night on a poor Moncton blueline. Now, it’s a better group, and Morin has been the one leading the charge at both ends. He’s not high-end in any element or skill. But as a smart, confident, hard-shooting blueliner, there’s a lot to like here and I can’t wait to see him transition to the AHL next season.

Looks like Parekh, Battaglia and Misa all made his top 15 in the OHL rankings.

Surprised Mews didn't make the list, but he's been struggling a bit since he was traded I suppose.

Man I’m taking my son to his second Lethbridge Hurricanes game. I chose the weekend of March 14/15. Friday they play the Medicine Hat Tigers and the Calgary Hitmen on Saturday. I figured which ever game we go to I can watch a Flames prospect. Well here we are a couple of weeks away and no Basha for the Tigers and now no Hurtig for the Hitmen. Really hoping one of them gets healthy before then
