Just by announcing it, they've already increased their cost base massively.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) publicly distanced himself from President Donald Trump on Sunday, calling Russian President Vladimir Putin a “threat to America” and warning of a dangerous new alliance forming between Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea—what he described as a “new Axis” of hostile nations.

Did Mike Johnson just grow half a spine? Will he still have a job in a week?

Nobody with a spine is permitted to work in a Trump administration.

The problem lies in manipulated media, a failed education system that doesn't place an importance on critical thinking, and America's addiction to team politics.
Let's be clear here - Trump and the GOP are the problem, and have been for a decade now. Never lose sight of that. Trying to lay blame on Biden, Harris and the Democrats for Trump is just weak gaslighting to try and rationalize the orange #### gibbon's behaviour.

Republicans are just really good at appealing to a multitude of single issue causes that have a specific benefit to an individual. These issues are the easiest things for uninformed people to understand and requires no abstract thought for the greater good or seeing the forest through the trees.
One of the most obvious examples of this was from an interview I saw on CNN yesterday of a woman, 24 years old, with fertility issues. She said that she didn't like Trump, thought he was not a good person, but voted for him because she wants to have a child and wanted free IVF. She admitted that he wasn't going to be good for other people, but was willing to hold her nose so she could get what she wanted. The kicker for her is that she was also a park ranger who lost her job and now has no income. So now she can not even pull herself up by the bootstraps and save money for what she wanted for free.
The Republicans have always tried to appeal to individual gains rather than the collective good and with people these days siloed in their social media bubbles, they don't see how a lot of these promises do not reconcile with each other or sacrifice collective good for their own selfish gain. They want government efficiency, but also free niche medical procedures. They can choose to just hear what they want to hear and the algorithm enforces it. It's like they can't step back and say, whoa wait a minute, how is it even possible to follow through with all these promises and not also be on the receiving end of some of the things I don't want.

That was so much BS.
Evaluate people based on their actions and their integrity, not what they look like.
Dont trust the suit. Its usually hiding something.

on so many levels. Nobody had an issue with Space Karen's attire in the Oval Office just the other day, but I think what takes the cake is the fact that it was Majorie Traitor Greene's ####ing boyfriend who called Zelenskyj out. But hey, I guess he's a serious journalist, not like those AP and Reuters bums, amirite?
I loved Zelenskyjs response though. "I'll wear a costume when the war is over". Perfect.

It's obvious why Zelenskyy doesn't wear a suit during his diplomatic missions anywhere. He's at war. He's in war fatigues. It's a reminder to everyone he interacts with.

The same suit he's worn since 2016, I'm not sure he's ever taken it off. I'm kinda disappointed Zelenskyy didn't have a clapback about Trump only owning 1 suit.
Could've done the Seinfeld quote, when Jerry dates the girl who always wears the same thing, "do you only own 1 that you keep washing, or do you have a whole closet of that exact outfit, like Batman??"

Yes. And the fact of the matter is...he is 'at war' with Russia. They respect no borders.
Just because his feet are on American soil does not mean that he is not still at war.
That man's life is in jeopardy 24/7.

pfft. I want the one where we go, '00 Gore, '04 Gore, '08 Romney, '12 Romney. I'd roll the dice in this 12 year #### show we are in now after those 16 years. I think maybe in that timeline then follow up with Obama, or Buttigieg and there is a backlash in 2016 to the first black or gay president, but Trump is too old to be part of it in the same way.

On balance...still probably a good idea!
Frankly, there are times I wonder if Earth is like a Cosmic version of Big Brother and the Aliens are just sitting back, eating popcorn and laughing at the stupid earthlings.
|
I wonder if AI is orchestrating this by manipulating our elections so we have the absolute worse human leadership so in a few years we will vote to put AI in charge. Then we go the way of Terminator or the Matrix.

The thing is that Zelenskyy is someone the Russians want dead more than anyone on Earth.
There are countless people who could become Ukrainian leaders and would cut a deal. There is one dude right now who is willing, when its time to stand and be counted, to stand, and be counted. And his opinion and ideas are pretty clear.
"No F###ing way. No F###ing deal. Get the F### out!!"
And THAT is integrity.

I just don’t really see any scenario where Republicans turn on themselves no matter what Trump does.
You really have to remember that despite some of these clips that we’re seeing of voters getting mad at town halls, buy and large conservatives are thrilled with what Trump and the Republicans are doing. They truly believe that Social Security and Medicare, and all of the other doge cuts are getting rid of all of the freeloaders.
Not to mention, they love Republicans and Trump owning the big city liberals by eroding democracy, they love Trump screwing over Ukraine because they think that Putin is an admirable strong leader like America needs. They don’t see Russia as an enemy they see their type of dictatorship as the goal.
For every example of us laughing at Americans and the whole leopards ate their faces examples conservatives and Republicans have twice as many examples of things that make them happy that Trump and the Republicans are doing no matter how bad it is for the country. They like what’s happening.

Churchill did the same thing when he visited the White House. Of course certain “news” outlets neglect to mention this.
