Hill didn't pitch in the majors between May 29 and July 2 because of a strained left groin and between July 17 and Aug. 24 because of a blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand. He has pitched 19 scoreless innings since joining the Dodgers after an Aug. 1 trade with Oakland.
Didn't he get yanked against the Jays in July for the same blister? Must have been the same one tonight I'm assuming?

Duh, I didn't read it properly. Obviously it was the July 17th game.

I understand the concern about blisters with this guy, but he sure didn't look like he wanted to come out. I think you have to give him a chance.

Yeah I would have kept him in it as well. Interesting to note the Dodgers manager pulled another pitcher with a no hitter in the 8th earlier in the year. He can't be that liked by his pitchers...

The thing for Hill was that it wasn't just a no-hitter, it was a perfect game.

I saw a tweet tonight that said it's the first time since 1913 that a pitcher throwing a perfect game was yanked.

edit - sorry, not the first time, but the most innings apparently.

MLB Statistics ‏@MLBRandomStats
Hill was removed from his start after 7 perfect innings.
The next most since 1913 is 5 perfect IP, by Norris last year and Knepper in 1986.

I could accept it if Hill was at 100 pitches or over. But he wasn't.
Just boggles the mind. Robbed the guy of trying to make history.

Think we've heard the last of this yet? Weird stuff.

Dave Roberts said finger in blister area was starting to get tender. Told Rich Hill this: "No, I didn't notice it."

I'd be really nice if our defense played better

These guys really seem to have no mental fortitude. Just wilt in big games defensively.

Despite that run Sanchez looks good.

That throw by Goins was really bad.

Yup, foolish. Even if he's going to make that move, why the hell is Goins playing over Barney who has a gold Glove to his name and is ten times better at the plate?

This ump isn't calling the low strike. That's going to make it tough on Sanchez
