I've always found 10%/10x Tuesdays at Safeway to be a scam. Typically there are way less items on sale on these days, so it works out to be a wash as far as getting any sort of deal... (so I guess the Airmiles is better in that case???, I don't know)

Sobeys does the same 10% Tuesdays, and I haven't noticed them removing all their sale tags for it.

Regardless, at either, I've always taken the 10% off since I barely collect any airmiles anywhere. (I use Avion)

Just my 2c.

Update: The Jacqueline Suzanne's Bistro deal is a very hot seller. They've already sold over 1,000+ vouchers as of 1:30pm!

Thank you, Icon. My family uses AirMiles at Shell and Safeway and the Visa Classic 2 is our credit card (and there's no annual fee). Why did you switch to Avion? Is it worth the fee (and what is the annual fee)?

Now that our youngest kid is older I'm trying to wrap my head around paying for flights for a family of four. Wondering the best way to get the most bang for buck with all these points cards.

I honestly don't remember when or why I switched over to the Avion card... I think I had some sort of reasoning after researching it on the RBC site. I think the annual fee is $120? But there's multiproduct rebates through RBC which gives some sort of discount on that. I use the Visa to pay for pretty much everything to get points, and then just pay it off regularly online.

Back to the original topic. Went to Sobeys yesterday, it was actually 15% off if you spent more than $150. (10% off for $149 or less) So was happy with that!

Yamato decided to make up a new rule and only accept a maximum of 5 vouchers per day. This is pretty silly considering they sold over 5,000 vouchers which would mean it could take someone up to 3 years to use their voucher.

Yamato does not have the right to do this because it was not stipulated in the Fine Print or agreement with DealFind. I notified a couple VP's at DealFind and they are looking into the issue. I'll give you guys an update when they resolve the issue.

Shame on Yamato for doing this.
Hey GoFlamesGo, I was wondering if you ever did hear anything about Yamato?

As an aside, thanks for setting up such a great resource!

I heard back from DealFind's head of customer service & sales and they said it was resolved and taken care of.

However, I have not been abe to get ahold of Yamato to make reservations so I can verify this for myself. Has anyone recently tried calling Yamato to make reservations? Did they remove their silly policy of accepting a maximum of 5 vouchers per day?

I bought 3 vouchers to the Calgary Cleaning deal, but haven't tried calling them yet to book an appointment. They sold a lot of vouchers so I expect them to be very busy for the next couple weeks. I usually wait a month or so and let the initial mad rush die down a bit before I use any of my vouchers.

I was interested in buying this, but was a bit put off by the 1 year expiry, especially since I was thinking of buying a few, and wasn't sure exactly how many I'd use this season.

I'm wondering if that's even legal. http://www.servicealberta.ca/1290.cfm This page indicates that Alberta law

GFG do you know if this applies to voucher deals? I can't see why it wouldn't, and wonder if DealTicker is setting themselves up for a problem here.

I plan on stocking up on the Studio City Detailing deal too and buying enough to last the entire summer. I just haven't decided how many I want to buy yet, but it'll likely be 3-5. One year expiry isn't bad although a good chunk of the deals don't have expiry dates.

From my understanding, what makes these vouchers legal is even when expire, they are still worth whatever you paid for them. For example, today's DealTicker City Studio deal costs $29 for a Detailing Package valued at $90. If you use the voucher within a year, you'll get the detailing package worth $90. If you use the voucher past the expiry date, the voucher is still worth the original $29 that you paid and can be put towards any service at Studio City. I believe this applies to all vouchers purchased at all the group-buyng sites.
