He's built the most playoff ready team they've had under the Matthews era in terms of size, defense, and goaltending. He tried to trade Marner for Raantanen, which would have instantly improved their chances.
I don't know if he's the main problem.

He’s totally walking. What guy would stay somewhere he’s not wanted?

No one wants him back. Great regular season player disappears once the series goes deep. For whatever reason he can't take the pressure of playing in Toronto. Much rather use that money elsewhere.

I think Woll has been the one bright spot for the Leafs in the last few games. He's played really well, but the Panthers have been relentless and his teammates haven't played enough in the offensive zone.
I like Woll. Been very impressed with him in the series.

In this case Marner had an NTC, so hands were tied.
Although the Laughton trade is certainly looking terrible, so there is that.

Wow, Marchand's parents look a helluva lot younger than I expected them to.

I'm not understanding why they're sending Marchand off. He just went back to help defend his teammates and didn't really do anything terrible. He never went off the ice or left the bench as a non-active player.

Team has been doing this for almost a decade. It's not that they lose. It's how they lose. They never show up for big games. And are still unwilling to do the small things like take a hit.

He's also been the direct culprit in some bad turnovers or weak defensive play leading to back breaking goals in the past few games.
Sometimes it's more about when you do things rather than how much you do. Both positive and negative.

I would say trade Matthews get a haul. Dude more of a ghost than Marner.

I’m fine with TO keeping Tre for a long time, but this team has no choice but to break up the core four if they want to take the next step.
Marner has been one of their better players in the playoffs.
Stolarz is a factor, but do they hang their collective hats on losing their number one goalie or do they look at their team needs and make some moves at the draft and offseason?
I would love Calgary take their number one pick for Ras.

The last 40 minutes notwithstanding, I don't agree. I think they've been physical as hell in this series and have taken plenty of hits to make plays. I think they're just wearing down.
