As a guy who didn't find Green Lantern and Man of Steel that bad of movies, I'll still keep an open mind when I go to watch this. Sure, the aforementioned two movies weren't great movies, but I think it's exaggerated how awful they were. Maybe I went into it with zero expectations or something, but I still enjoyed both.

Green Lantern was bad. It was a bad film. And I say that objectively. The people who made it acknowledge that it was bad, the people who were in it accept that it was bad and the people that saw it stated that it was bad.
It was a bad film. Not 'Spiderman 3 bad' but bad none the less.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

I agree about Man of Steel, I don't think it's as bad as people tend to say. Really, I think it just suffers from Superman being all-around uninteresting.
Green Lantern though....man. It was so bad. So so bad.
Locke, I think it's in the same category as Spiderman 3 bad.

The fact that its in the same conversation pretty much gets it there.

So RT has a 40 rating but the fan reviews have it at 85%, is that good for that site? over 100k fan reviews.

I'll be seeing it. Going in with terribly low expectations seems like it might be a good thing.
It is for me. I dont often go to see movies in theaters but I went to Star Wars and I was going to go for this one and probably Civil War, because I really enjoy this stuff.
But yeah, if its hot garbage I can wait for it to come out on Shaw on Demand or whatever.

Fan Reviews before the movie comes out are always high since it's mostly just the fanboys voting and most of them probably without having actually seeing it.

I would agree, but sometimes the only redeeming qualities for these types of movies are the SFX, and those diminish pretty quickly outside the theatre.
I'll give you my $15, WB. Just to see Batman in power armour. That's it really.
EDIT: Also, how do you know it's hot garbage unless you see it. We can all guess what is going on here, and why people may be hating on it, but you never really know how you personally feel until seeing it.
Example: Nacho Libre has a 40% on RT. That's one of my favorites.
I'll make sure I am good and drunk before I write my review of this movie, it will be a very entertaining post for all.

Speaking of watching at home, Blu Ray versions of Star Wars leaked last night and I watched it for the second time. Much less enjoyable at home without all of the Imax goodness to be honest. Turned it off half an hour in.
So yeah, I'm guessing if I don't watch this in theaters and the reviews don't improve, I probably won't watch it at home either. Even for free.
I asked my brother if the construction site was buzzing about BvS, he says there hasn't been a peep, everyone is buzzing about Daredevil instead.
[NERD RAGE] DC sucks, DC has always sucked, Batman is only good sometimes and the rest of their roster is garbage. Watchmen being the best super hero comic ever has nothing to do with DC and everything to do with Alan Moore. If Marvel crapped in DC's mouth, DC should say 'thank you'. [/NERD RAGE]
I just watched MovieBob review and forgot to skip the spoilers. After listening to his brief synopsis I can't be shocked that this movie is getting bad reviews.
What did they think would happen when they signed up Zack Snyder to direct this thing, after the critical flop that was MOS?
155 minutes of CGI chaos and minimal character depth/development is what I'm expecting. Doesn't sound far off based on reviews. It probably would be more tolerated by critics if it was trimmed down from a Peter Jackson running time. Being dragged through an overlong flick that isn't delivering on story is a good way to get them to turn on you.
This actually gives me a lot of optimism. Many of the negative reviews seem to be coming from people who are clearly not comic book fans. Major gripes seem to be with the film not having enough witty quips. From a guy who largely hates witty quips, I'll reserve judgment until I see the movie Thursday. At least this is what I'm telling myself.
I follow this guys movie reviews and he is a comic book (and movie) fan and he wasn't a big fan of this movie. Sounds like the movie has problems whether you are a fan of comic books or not.
