Even the "fresh" RT reviews basically all just say, "meh."
Basically, Marvel can't do anything wrong even with characters that should have no business carrying a feature film, while DC can't do anything right with Superman and Batman.
Time to throw in the towel, guys.

Outside the Richard Donner Superman, Tim Burton Batman and the Nolan series, DC movies for the most part have been somewhat awful. The fact Marvel keeps pumping out quality even from complete unknown properties (in general public terms) like GOTG and Deadpool sort of underscores how miserable DC has been at getting solid adaptations.

39% on Rotten Tomatoes and yet it has a 9.1 on IMDB. Hmmmm.....
This actually gives me a lot of optimism. Many of the negative reviews seem to be coming from people who are clearly not comic book fans. Major gripes seem to be with the film not having enough witty quips. From a guy who largely hates witty quips, I'll reserve judgment until I see the movie Thursday. At least this is what I'm telling myself.
I was hoping I could overcome the ridiculous premise of a immortal who can violate the laws of physics battling a rich guy with military tech, but these bad reviews makes it look like it's not going to happen. Too bad.
Wonder how the box office will look now. I'll still see it in theaters probably, unless the fan reviews match the critic reviews....
Not surprised this sucks though. Superman sucks. Get over it DC. He's awful. Just the worst. Make a movie about him flying into the core of the sun and dying. I'd love to see that. Best Superman movie ever.

I know you've been this movie's fiercest defender since day one..but you seem to be really stretching. I read a bunch of the top critic reviews yesterday and they were all the same. Not a single one said it needed to be funnier. I know you want to like it and that's fine but it seems a bit far fetched to point out that you think that these near unanimous reviews panning the film are all based on a lack of Marvel type one liners.
Too much mish mash of story, everything is dark and depressing as if it was filmed with some sort of depressing filter, bad writing, bad villains, nothing but an orgy of special effects etc.
Welp, that sucks.. but I can't say I am surprised. Get Snyder and his wife the hell out of there and bring in someone new pleeeeeaasseee. Or just give Geoff Johns full control, anything he touched in the comic books turned to gold and he single handily saved the GL character.
All that being said, critics are critics and I may still enjoy this movie. I would love to see someone get Batman right for once. Keaton is the closest they have come.

That is literally the plot of one of the best reviewed Superman comics of the last 10 years. All Star Superman by Grant Morrison.

Yeah I also noticed that many of the fresh reviews note it has a lot of flaws. IMO the issue with the DC films is that they are all dark and serious while the Marvel movies give you the occasional wink that it's a superhero movie that's supposed to be fun.

I can usually trust MovieBob to tell it like it is. He's a huge video game/comic book geek. http://moviebob.blogspot.ca/2016/03/...n-of.html#more
Warning, NSFW, and full of spoilers(You can read the first 2 paragraphs, then there is a spoiler warning). His review is ...not good.
As a guy who didn't find Green Lantern and Man of Steel that bad of movies, I'll still keep an open mind when I go to watch this. Sure, the aforementioned two movies weren't great movies, but I think it's exaggerated how awful they were. Maybe I went into it with zero expectations or something, but I still enjoyed both.
