1st + Coronato would be on the table.
Can’t let Kane go to Edmonton.
Or ####in Vegas.

ya, that price is way too steep. Now leave out a 1st and Coronato maybe. Why are we trading a future RW star for one is on the end of his career? I get the win now stuff but not for that price. Ouch.

I’d offer a package of:
Kenneth Agostino
Ben Hanowski
2024 1st round pick (with the necessary conditions)
For Patty.

Not my table, trading your only #1 RW prospect for a few months of Kane would be stupid. you only trade pieces from organizational strength. Wolf, Zary, a young D should be the max as far as prospects.
For Edmonton or Vegas to get him they would have to sewer their team to fit him in.
I doubt it matters anyway because Kane controls where to go and likely it would be to the Rangers, Canes or Pittsburgh.

How on earth are Vegas or Edmonton fitting Kane unless they send at least a good player or a couple decent players (Vegas) or half their roster (Edmonton) to Chicago?

Well for those two teams get them it'll be because of LTIR money due to a high end highly paid player went down or like you said sending a lot of current roster players back to match salaries.
Either way, a trade for Kane wouldn't make them anymore dangerous and possibly worse especially in the long run.

Huberdeau - Lindholm - Kane
Mangiapane - Kadri - Dube
Coleman - Backlund - Toffoli
Lucic - Rooney - Lewis/Ritchie
The key would be cost here and it’s a tricky thing to consider, is Kane who we want to go all in on and for most likely just a 1 year rental?? No question the additional 3 cups and extensive playoff experience would be invaluable to the Flames but the cost makes me wary.

that happens we win the cup imo

Vegas will just put Martinez and Reilly Smith on LTIR until they are miraculously healthy for game 1 of the playoffs.

[Frank Seravalli] NHL commissioner Gary Bettman says after concluding the BOG meetings that the league is optimistic that the $1.1 billion escrow debt due from players to owners will be retired this season.
Bettman also says if it’s paid off this year, the salary cap should raise by 4m next season.

kane might actually be worth the futures cost of a rental because the Flames would have favorable odds at a cup . with Kane they are strong at every position with the right talent slotted everywhere you would want it to be

This would be huge news for the Flames as they could target a forward with term at the deadline instead of a pure rental, and have a much better chance at making the cap work beyond this season if there's a $4mil jump coming.

the Flames top 3 LW that year interestingly all had 38 points (Roberts- who hadn't become GARY ROBERTS yet, Patterson, and Peplinski. they acquired MacLellan late who then produced (small numbers ) at a 34 point pace. basically that position was 4 big strong horses that while each at different stages of their career and skillsets were a little bit interchangeable

Probably just me, but in a tournament where a goalie can get hot and win a series on their own spending significant futures on a Kane rental is not a great managerial decision. I haven't seen high end rentals really move the needle in past playoffs. Now, a role player slotted in the right spot can help but the players moving in the top of the line-up don't seem to move the needle much. This is just my view, however.

If Kane would be interested in coming here, and I'd have to think that playing on a line with Lindholm and Huberdeau would be an attractive opportunity, then he would round out this forward group perfectly. Treliving seems to have been holding onto future pieces a little too tight when it comes to the cost of adding top end talent, which obviously doesn't come cheap.. maybe he realizes that? Make it happen! That would be so damn exciting!
