Cmon Seattle!
Trade that 4th overall pick this year and Hasselbeck or Wallace for Cutler!
DEN can then pick up Staford in the draft while already having a bonafide starter.

One can dream.

Rumblings that Carolina is involved...and it ends up with Peppers in Cleveland and Quinn in Denver.

Wishful thinking, IMO.... I think this is going to drag on and on and on until a couple days before the draft, probably to Denver's benefit. There are just too many teams interested right now, and I think Cutler's trade value will continue to rise until there are only one or two suitors remaining.

The Jets will make a very serious offer (pick #17 + 2010 1st + a QB?), the Lions SHOULD make a serious offer unless they've decided on Stafford (picks #20 and #33?), Tampa is obviously interested (maybe #19 + 2010 1st + a QB?)... plus you've got Chicago, Minnesota, Carolina, San Francisco, Seattle, Cleveland, and probably a couple other teams kicking the tires... this has the potential to drag on for a long, long time.

I think he'll end up with the Jets.

Smart move by the Broncos to set up an auction, I can't believe Cutler handled some trade rumours this poorly. Talk about a complete disrespecting of an organization that put a ton of faith and opportunity at his feet.

I hope the Browns get Cutler. I don't think Quinn is ever going to be a player.

I wonder how the players view this whole Cutler situation?

while I'm sure they live his talent, will they be viewing him as a whiny QB for throwing a tantrum because his name was mentioned in trade rumours?

The Broncos players, to their credit, have been silent on the issue. I'm sure many of them supported Cutler privately early on, but I wouldn't be shocked if some of them have waivered in that support lately.

After thinking about it some more, I believe you are right Aaron. This will go down to draft week. Waiting can only benefit Denver.

Just heard Sal Palantonio give his take on it. He thinks Denver hurt themselves by waiting and trying to mend fences and he thinks there are only 3 teams seriously interested.

1. Washington
2. Tampa Bay
3. Cleveland

I can't see it being that limited.

I don't want anything to do with either Cleveland QB so that's probably what will end up happening.

Actually, I don't want a QB back in the trade at all. Go with Simms this year and draft one next year. Draft a second tier guy this year. Next year's class will trump this year's class and the Broncos should theoretically have a very, very high pick next year. Maximize the trade value now by taking picks or good young defensive players.

Also, just off the wire, Stallworth will be charged with DUI and manslaughter.

Washington would be stupid to take him. Campbell is developing into a gem of a quarterback. The guy has been through several different schemes since they drafted him and he's turned into a very accurate passer.

Please make this happen Tannenbaum.
I've never liked his attitude even before this whole debacle. I would rather draft Freeman/Sanchez and give Ratliff a chance than have Cutler as ridiculous as that might sound.

If the Lions are going to draft Stafford or Sanchez with the first pick they should seriously consider trading for Cutler. One, it isn't a crap shoot. You know what you got. Stafford or Sanchez are 50/50 on being NFL players and even less odds of being stars. Two, Cutler is under contract for three more years and will be cheaper than the first overall pick.

If the Lions don't intend to draft a QB first overall then it doesn't make any sense to trade the pick on Cutler.

excellent post BBB.

I don't think the Lions have any intention of doing either.

Redskins reportedly trying to move Jason Campbell to another team for a pick that they would use as part of a package to get Cutler. Reportedly it's a second. So a second, their first and what else? The two picks isn't enough.

FOX sports in New York is reporting the Jets have offered a 1st, 2nd and David Harris.

The Jets pick is 17th, the Redskins 13th

Now Cutler claims he DIDNT want to get traded. Sounds like someone who was trying to call a bluff...and lost.

Quote:
"I was surprised they decided to trade me this soon," Cutler told Glazer in his first comments since the statement was released. "I didn't want to get traded. This wasn't me. (The Broncos) had been going back and forth saying things, wanting me to be their quarterback and then they didn't."
"I really didn't want this. I love Denver. I really like my teammates. I didn't want it to get this far."
Just bizarre.

Caught a bit of Mark Schlereth talking about the situation on ESPN yesterday, and the words "soother" and "immature" were quite prevalent. Sounds like Cutler is enemy number one with the alumni.

Maybe he should have picked up the phone then. What other profession in the world could you get away with completely ignoring your boss? Anybody else would be fired in a second (which in this case wouldn't hurt Cutler in the least). Maybe the Broncos should keep him and let him hold a clip board for three seasons. It will never happen because of the money involved. Just once though I would love to see a star athlete put in his place.

The only times I can think where this may have happened is The The Eagles Sent T.O. home or when the Bucs sent Keyshawn home.

Cutler and his agent also claim the Broncos never attempted to contact them in the 10 day period. Pro athletes piss me off sometimes. You don't want to sign a long term contract? Don't do it. Unless you want to give owners the right to renegotiate when you have a crappy season.

Maybe there is a lot more to this story than any of us could ever imagine.
