Someone please tell me when Ammunation rebounds on the Bawsaq. I bought in at about 550 and it's down to about 400 right now.... and when I say bought in I went in hard with many millions. Oh boy.
I'm getting a little annoyed with the police. You can't do anything without getting their attention, and they don't really have billions of helicopters at their disposal do they.
went with C, and I'm also interested to see how the story unfolds. Part of me thinks that even if I had selected a) kill Mike b) kill Trevor, the story would have still ended up in a similar spot so the DLC/Story lines can continue. But who knows...
Spoiler!
From what i read is they are all different, if you kill michael or trevor you cant play with them, and that c is the best as that's the one you go and kill everyone

With the crime in Los Santos I'm surprised that they don't have helicopter gun ships.
Best way to die. I was running from the cops on a motorcycle went on one of the bridges and promptly ran head first into a blockade my bike stopped and I didn't I went over the roofs of the cars over the edge of the bridge fell down to the freeway and landed on the hood of another cop car. So I'm lying on the hood for a half second marveling that I'm alive until they shot me through the windshield of their car.
It looked awesome and I doubt I can replicate it again.

Haha dang, I gotta remember to quit checking this thread on my CP Android app, it doesn't hide spoilers. Anyway, saw this on another board I'm on, figured with the stock Q's people have been having, this could help.
Getting back to my 12 year old, he is is extremely vexed that he is not allowed to play GTAV. He says all his friends are playing it, which I found hard to believe. He showed me his friends' game collections on XBox, and it does appear that many of his friends are playing this game. And that is the problem - he feels left out and feels a great deal of peer pressure.
I have read many parent guides like this one (which do not recommend this game for kids):
My son says if he did not play the missions, he would avoid the most mature content. Is there a way to turn down the gore and violence in the settings? If I supervised him when he played, can I be confident he won't see mature content? Are there safe areas of the game outside the story mode?
I don't know much about these games, and whether the worst content can be avoided. As parents, we think it is our duty to prohibit this game. Is it true many kids his age are really playing this game?

When I was a lad about 11-12 years ago, I worked for Blockbuster. I would make a point of letting parents renting GTA III/Vice City know about the mature content. 20% were shocked, and the other 80% did not even give half a ####. Parents don't care if their kids are beating up hookers, killing civilians, hearing some pretty racy language, and all the other whatnot.
I wouldn't be surprised if 4 in 5 of your son's friends are playing, as their parents likely don't give a damn.
EDIT: That said, I think with proper guidance a kid of that age can be exposed to those sort of things (lord knows I read/played/watched some pretty extreme stuff when I was 12), but I would guess it would be tiring staying on top of it.

BAWSAQ is controlled by users. It went up early on as everyone was buying weapons and guns. Now that the initial rush is over, it will slowly drop (until it is released in Japan, when it will likely go up again).

Ya, I worked at Future Shop in the entertainment section right when San Andreas was coming out, and we were ordered to inform any parent/guardian buying it for an underage child about the game's "mature" content. Most could've cared less, and I remember one mom specifically who shot me a "don't tell me how to raise my kid" glare at me when I gave her the rundown.
That said, I think V may have the most adult content of any GTA to date, I don't think I'd want my hypothetical 12 year old playing it. But I also wouldn't be naive to the fact that through one of their friends, they'd probably find a way to play it anyway.

Nothing to change in the settings. There's not a lot of gore exactly, just violence.
If he doesn't do the missions, what exactly would he be doing? Driving around? Grabbing a gun and shooting up everyone? A lot of the activities (golf, tennis, etc) don't get unlocked without doing some missions, and even the activities involve some pretty adult language and references (banter while playing tennis for example).
Even just driving around or walking around the things random people say can be as bad as anything else in the game language wise. EDIT: The "F" word is the least of worries with regards to language.

Even something like the parachute doesn't get unlocked till like half way through the game, even if he doesn't do any missions you'll have to do them to unlock the things that he'll want to play with anyway.
And the strip club doesn't require a mission. Not even a cover!

One thing that strikes me about the adult content in the game is just how adult it is. The previous games were always geared towards adults, but there was a layer of goofy humour thrown into the mix (hookers would make jokes during sex, sounds would be unrealistic and funny etc.). The hookers in this one meanwhile are playing on a whole new level. I haven't heard language like that (aside from porn) in *anything*. How they managed to only get an M rating is a little confusing. If you remember, the hot coffee incident in GTA:SA required a recall.
If I were in your shoes I'd stick to my guns on this one. Even if I considered my kid to be well adjusted I still wouldn't get it for him at 12. That's just too young imo. Perhaps my view is skewed because I am a dad now... perhaps I've become hyper-sensitive to this kind of thing. It just seems way too heavy for that age.

Tough spot. No way in hell I'd let a kid play this game though. Like others have mentioned it goes above and beyond in its sexual and violent content. I think because its interactive media as well, it different from just watching a movie. You need to have a mature enough mind to understand the content and often the satire behind it. Heck, a lot of adults probably aren't mature enough to handle it.
I think parents allowing their kids to play this is really irresponsible, and also I think it kind of ruins it for mature gamers as well, as kids could do the dumb things the games get blamed for. The notion that video games are strictly for children idea died a long time ago. There's different ratings for a reason.

I haven't even picked up a hooker yet.........I gotta play the game a bit more.
I feel for your kid trout..........if I was in his shoes I'd be a little miffed as well. I hated when my friends got to do or see things when I was about that age and my parents wouldn't let me. When you're that age you're just ticked off at your parents when they stop you from doing something and you think they're just don't understand or just don't care. But now as a parent I guess I understand it a bit better. Even if he's not doing missions there's pretty mature comment everywhere in the game. I guess you could let him borrow it and watch with him as he plays it for a few minutes and then you can both see what it involves and discuss why it isn't suited for kids his age. Because we all know eventually he'll just play it without you knowing somewhere else. Maybe if you both see it and discuss it he'll understand where you're coming from. I don't know, just throwing ideas out there.
