The FBI has information that indicates associates of President Donald Trump communicated with suspected Russian operatives to possibly coordinate the release of information damaging to Hillary Clinton's campaign, US officials told CNN.

This is partly what FBI Director James Comey was referring to when he made a bombshell announcement Monday before Congress that the FBI is investigating the Trump campaign's ties to Russia, according to one source.

The FBI is now reviewing that information, which includes human intelligence, travel, business and phone records and accounts of in-person meetings, according to those U.S. officials. The information is raising the suspicions of FBI counterintelligence investigators that the coordination may have taken place, though officials cautioned that the information was not conclusive and that the investigation is ongoing.

Investigators continue to analyze the material and information from multiple sources for any possible indications of coordination, according to US officials. Director Comey in Monday's hearing refused to reveal what specifically the FBI was looking for or who they're focusing on.

A small but potentially pivotal group of House conservatives were largely unmoved Wednesday by appeals from Vice President Mike Pence and House Republican leaders to support a bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, leaving it unclear whether President Trump and the Republican Congress could fulfill one of their central campaign promises.

“They don’t have the votes to pass this tomorrow,” said Representative Mark Meadows, Republican of North Carolina and chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. “We believe that they need to start over and do a bill that actually reduces premiums.”

“The opposition is still strong,” he said.

A spokeswoman for the Freedom Caucus, Alyssa Farah, said that more than 25 members of the caucus were “no” votes on the health care measure — enough to sink the bill in the House, though that count could not be independently verified.

Not too much of a stretch, given Trump's public invitation to the Russians to obtain and release emails.

One thing about Trump is that he's not only a prolific liar, he's a bad liar. I've no doubt that as the FBI continues to flip over stones, they'll find solid evidence to connect Trump to the Russian government. Either that, or Trump will fall out with someone who has that evidence, who will then provide it to the FBI or leak it to the media.

Or, just as likely, Russia will do it themselves.
