And yeah if not the greatest individual performance ever, definitely the best of our lifetimes.

The Jays have knocked out some pretty good pitchers so wouldn’t be totally out of it IMO, but doing it 4 times against that slate of starters…unlikely

The ohtani achievement is pretty amazing, but some of the american coverage is a little irritating. There is a very strong argument that it was the best played baseball game of all time. One Philly did a no hitter plus 2 home runs, but it was regular season.

I think where it's getting annoying are the comparisons to other sports. Secretariat, and a number of football players are brought up. Ohtani, rightfully is right in that mix.

But no one has mentioned Mario's 5 goals, 5 ways. Its still mind boggling that even happened.

I think Ohtani is in the mix for greatest individual game ever, and Mario's 5 goals is a neat one for sure. I have seen Stittler mentioned elsewhere, but both Stittler snd Lemieux's games were regular season, which I think does bump Ohtani above them slightly.

Basically those are all things that will never ever happen again, so it's hard to compare them across sports. Being a playoff game makes Ohtani's "more" imo.

Although Secretariat was the Kentucky Derby, which is certainly playoff equivalent. But I think it's very difficult to compare across sports, never mind across species...

Ohtani is still better.

If Mario scored 4 goals and then went and played goalie for the third period and put up a shut out then it would be simila4

Ugh - the two teams I hate the most.

Leaning towards the Dodgers. The damage is done even if the Jays lose - the Springer home run will be played non-stop for the next 5 years.
