Yeah, they purchased some titles very effectively with their money. All that's left is for the player beneficiaries to go crazy and cheer like it was them and not the purchase price that led to them.

Is the Dodgers-Brewers game not on TV? I can’t seem to find it on Telus.

You have to watch it on Sporstnet+ online. All you have to do is login with your Telus account info.

Sportsnet overloaded itself today. The Canucks and Oilers regional games had to be upgraded to national status because the Pacific and West channels had to carry the Blue Jays game. That we the baseball game to be taken off. The secondary regional channels (Sportsnet Oilers and SN Vancouver) could have aired those games. Spirtsnet officially declined that option.

Holy hell Ohtani just hit one out of Dodger Stadium.
One home run as a pitcher wasn’t enough he had to get 2.

I don't think that thing has landed yet.

Ohtani is pure gold, what an incredible baseball player! Such a joy to watch him play.
I'm hoping the Jays can string 2 wins together at home and get to the WS. I just don't think anyone is going to beat the Dodgers unfortunately.

3 for Ohtani! Getting to watch the greatest individual performance in baseball history takes a bit of sting out of the Jays loss.

They curb stomped the M's to finish the regular season, in Seattle.

That has to be right.
10 strikeouts and 3 HRs...has to be the greatest game an individual has ever played in baseball.

It's clearly the greatest individual baseball game ever. There have only been 13 games in the postseason where someone hit 3 HR (and 12 players, because Babe Ruth did it twice), and nobody has ever hit 4.
Six innings of shutout ball with 10 Ks and 2 hits allowed has apparently been done 26 times in the postseason.
So he tied the offensive record for an individual in the postseason, AND pitched a historically excellent start in the same game.
I think the question is more "is that the greatest single game by any athlete ever". I think it ranks up there with Wilt Chamberlain's 100 points or Sittler's six goal game. The fact that it was in an extremely meaningful postseason game where they clinched a berth in the World Series puts it above those, imo.
Basically I think nobody (including him) will ever be able to do that again and it feels impossible that he did it even at the time (which matches Chamberlain and Stittler) but because it was a meaningful post season game I think that puts it over the top

State of the Dodgers: Ohtani has been pretty much horrible in these playoffs before last night, but it hasn't mattered at all and they've still rolled without much contribution from him. So if he's out of his slump now to boot they go from virtually unbeatable to literally unbeatable. Pretty much the only hope to stop them is that a week off throws them out of rhythm. And yeah if not the greatest individual performance ever, definitely the best of our lifetimes.

Dodgers payroll this year expected to be about $510 million including the luxury taxes.
The Brewers payroll was about $125 million, less than the $160 million the Dodgers will pay in luxury tax.

It's not an even playing field that's for sure.
The Dodgers rotation is healthy finally and they have four ace pitchers going strong. Plus Sasaki is hitting triple digits with nasty secondaries as their closer.
Imagine if the Jays had landed Ohtani, Yamamoto and Sasaki the last two off seasons. Sounds like fun to me as a fan of the Jays. Hell, add Soto in there too just for sharts and giggles.
