We are seeing stickiness on price because companies are trying to maximize profit. Eventually one of them blinks to take advantage of increased sales. This is how competition works. Tsu Tina dropped to 149.9 on Sunday, then Costco SE had to follow. It’s only a matter of time for that to spread. Just as we head into a long weekend.
The more troubling thing is I suspect Kenny will punt on putting the gas tax back in and sabotaged another Alberta revenue stream permanently.

Weird that the gas tax break ended up being absorbed by the profit margin and not passed down to the consumers. Nobody could have seen that coming, thought it would trickle down for sure.

It did trickle down. Go follow the BC vs Alberta and Ontario gas prices since the tax break. The Delta between BC and Alberta went up by the 13 cents of the tax.
I don’t know how you can argue it didn’t work when the evidence it did is so easy to find.
https://www.gasbuddy.com/charts
Just look at the delta between BC and Alberta and how magically on April 1st the gap increased by roughly the amount of the gas tax. Where is your evidence it didn’t work?
Something else is going on in Alberta that is unrelated to the gas tax as if you look at Ontario their relief continued. So the last two weeks of Alberta vs ROC is interesting.
Kenny is an idiot and the whole gas tax relief policy stupid but unlike most of what Kenny does it lowered gas prices as intended.

Using those charts, the prices re-matched around the 5th. Did BC do something to take away their own provincial taxes, or is that the absorption that people are talking about?

Yes roughly two weeks ago gas prices across Canada dropped but didn’t in Alberta.
But if you look at Ontario they just dropped their gas tax and that has had an affect. Also the delta lost two BC in the last two weeks is far greater than the 13 cents of gas tax. So whatever is happening in Alberta right now is unrelated to the gas tax or at a minimum not solely attributable to the gas tax.
In addition the group of people saying Kenny’s has tax didn’t work have been saying this since Day 1. This isn’t a new argument being made post July 5th
And gas in Calgary will be 1.55 pretty soon as Tsu Tina at Costco have already dropped prices.

When you see Stage 4 (cancer) trending and you're hoping it doesn't originate in Alberta...
Gah.
Is Danielle Smith the most dangerous woman/person in Alberta? Canada?

Sigh. Just another thing she knows less than zero about, yet pretends she has a clue.
I hope anyone voting for her immediately trips on a crack in the sidewalk and smashes their stupid face, because that's the minimum they deserve for subjecting the rest of Alberta to her dangerous Idiocracy.

I do find it strange that Smith would devote an entire hour or whatever to this interview, claiming she knows little about naturopathic medicine but asking about what sort of regulatory improvements they would like, and I wonder who this is actually aimed at.
I would not vote for her but I had to comment that the tweet is overly alarmist.

It's just another example of her making statements for which she has know expertise to make, but giving the public the impression she knows what she is talking about, by have an"expert" on hand when she says it. A real medical expert would have called her out on it, but that's why she never has real experts on hand.

Danielle Smith clarifies what she said in her twitter message. She mentions her sincere love to Brian Jean and others who lost loved ones to Cancer.

Danielle Smith: anything not at Stage 4 is totally within your control.
Also Danielle Smith: moderate cigarette consumption can reduce traditional risks by 75 percent or more.
Please don't pick this tire fire, Alberta.

It's not always in your control and she seems to forget that. Healthy people with good life styles can still get Cancer.

See: conspirituality.
The wellness movement and anti-vax crowd has a big intersection, and has drifted far right. Combine a lot of it having religious background as well (I.e the Stephan family) and it becomes clearer on why Smith would be trying to appeal to the naturopath crowd.
