Probably Chicago. They always have more prospects than they need

The Howard comment seems more like posturing for a better return in a deal than anything. Pretty clear that Mrazek is their guy looking at the number of starts he's getting.

That is certainly a possible interpretation.

It could also mean that they want to run with the Mrazek/Howard tandem for the rest of the season into a playoff run, then try to move him in the off-season.

Nothing from the way they have rode Mrazek indicates that is true at all.

If Chevy isn't taking this deal right now, I hope Ladd goes on ir with an injury and they get nothing. Not wishing ill against Ladd but Chevy is an idiot and deserves to be fired

I think the Polak trade just drove up the price for Russell. I think the Flames have to deal him now.

@NicholsOnHockey:
Friedman: I still think even w/ their move today, San Jose is going to try to add a goalie b/c they're not happy w/ their backup. #SJSharks

4th period linking Flames and Drouin

http://www.thefourthperiod.com/colum.../dp160222.html

Quote:
The banter surrounding Jonathan Drouin has certainly quieted down lately, but word on the street is a trade is expected to be made "in the next seven days," a league source told me this morning.

Several teams have been in on Drouin, and that hasn't really changed. Before he left the Lightning's AHL affiliate in Syracuse, I had been told a trade was very close to being completed. Some believe that deal was with the St. Louis Blues. Turns out, Drouin and his camp thought a deal was close too.

The Blues are still interested in Drouin, along with the Canadiens, Minnesota Wild, Anaheim Ducks, Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames, Jets and Nashville Predators. Expect to hear his name popping up a little more often this week.

That is the only legitimate place I see Hiller going to, only because they see him at his best.

I'd be happy to make a deal with Tampa if it's a "win now" move for Tampa.

I'd happily send them Hudler and Russell (retain whatever salary is required for Tampa if need be) for Drouin.

With Yzerman not trading Stamkos, they're going to push for a Cup this year. If we can take advantage of that, cool.

If between now and June 30th, we can add Drouin and one of Matthews, Puljujarvi, Laine, Tkachuk, or Chychrun - we'd be at a point of critical mass with young talent that we can then get aggressive and start spending some assets to address specific team needs, even if "overpaying" is required.

Depends on the cost. I'm not totally against trading for Drouin, but they can't give up too much.
