This is insane. Expectations are out of whack right now...
Have you actually watched him play? People aren't saying these things because of hype. They're saying them because he's proven himself at every level to be something unique.
You watch him skate out there... He's on a different lvl than the rest of these prospects.
Yeah - a kid who had to beat the odds and break through the barriers he has to accomplish everything he has so far has done so without heart.
Not just a ridiculous statement. Stupid

Hopefully he has Marty St. Louis on speed dial for advice and mentoring.
They apparently share an agent, so that probably helps. From the sounds of his interview yesterday he's been seeking out advice from small NHLers. Mentioned need to focus on leg strength and not to bulk up too much on top. That screams of St. Louis.

He can correct me if I'm wrong but I think he's referring to Kent Nilsson -- the uber-skilled Swede who had the same nickname with the Flames but would "disappear" in crunch time...
I'm uploading a bunch of videos to youtube. I'll have them posted shortly.
never uploaded to youtube from my playbook before, and it didn't work well. So I had to figure out how to transfer to my laptop, and have almost finished uploading them all. 2 left.

Appreciate the updates CG. Would have loved to go up there to see them play, but Arizona is a ways away.
Thanks a lot for recording some drills CG. I like your podcast btw.
For those who weren't there and don't know who is wearing the numbers, here are some numbers to watch out for from group A:
46-Billy Arnold
67-Ryan Culk
73-Keegan Kanzig
52-Morgan Klimchuk

You probably are like a lot of Flames fans and just became aware of the team around 2004. But the Calgary Flames existed even before 2004. And that team had a player who still holds the team record for points in a season who did not have a heart.
But even if you did not know that the Flames existed before 2004, a simple understanding of the English language would indicate that I was referring to someone other than Gaudreau. When I said "hopefully this magic man has a heart" the use of my words clearly indicates there was a different magic man who did not have a heart.

I know we all keep raving about Gaudreau but when you are there it's kind of impossible not to. Almost every single time he touches the puck he does something notable. He is the best player I have ever seen at one of these camps.
Flames fans keep watching him and keep waiting for something to happen where we can go, "Oh... okay. Now I can temper my expectations." It's just not happening.
He was stellar throughout his college career (175 pts in 119 games and Hobey Baker).
He was awesome at the World Juniors (9 pts in 7 games) and the World Championships (10 points in 8 games).
...and then he scored in his first NHL game and played over 15 minutes.
Now he is in camp and is just at another level than all of the other players here.
We will temper our enthusiasm when he gives us a reason.
