That would be a terrible trade for Calgary. Lucic has one year left on his deal, let’s just ride it out. That money is going towards Huberdeau’s raise anyway.

Is it though? Kind of redundant, and pointless to acquire Chychrun when we’ve got Hanifin and Weegar on the left side. Kylington makes more sense as the bottom pairing LD, and I’ve got confidence that Coronato has a future here as a RW. Would rather be acquiring a top forward if we’re going to deal Coronato.
Keep an eye on Winnipeg. If they begin to falter, which I feel they will, I think you’ve got to go for Ehlers. We need to save the cap space for a good rental for a push. Chychrun is also injury prone.

Chychrun has had injury problems, but he's one hell of a D-man- that's why teams are lining up for his services. He's a very good two-way player.
Don't see the Flames being a suitor though.

Chychrun (3x$4.6mm) + Mackey (1x$0.95mm) for Valimaki (1x$1.55mm) Zadorov (2x$3.75mm) only adds $0.25mm to the cap this year. That leaves 1.12mm to sign Milano with a 23 man roster.
Valimaki, Zadorov, 1st, top prospect ends up being a competitive offer if he gets traded I bet.
No way the Flames do it, because if they are going to spend those assets it will be better used on a RW.
Ignoring the opportunity cost of using the pick and prospect in this deal, I would do it, other then Wolf as the prospect.

Yeah, the ‘yotes will be looking for the best possible package of futures, they aren’t interested in “winning now”, as we are. They’ll be wanting 1st round picks, and uber-young blue-chippers, and they’ll easily get 3-4 assets coming their way. A package including Valimaki, Zadorov,or Kylington, or any kind of salary dump (unless it includes another 1st) will not do it.

You don't trade players that just resigned as UFAs. That's a sure fire way to make sure free agents stay away from your team.

LOL Broberg a non starter for a defenseman that is far superior than he will likely ever be? Holloway is okay but every team has forward prospects of his level in their system. Clearly a 1st round pick and forward that could have been had for the last three years by any team isn't enough for Arizona.

I'm willing to bet the Coyotes would want a 1st round pick in addition to Holloway and Broberg seeing neither of them are currently projecting to be top line or top pairing players.

The Oilers don't have the cap space to add any salary.
In fact, CapFriendly shows them $7.6 million over the cap with a 22 man roster right now and Klefbom and Smith will only buy them $6.4 million in LTIR space. So, they need to shed at least $1.2 million just to be cap compliant but they're somehow going to add Chychrun's $4.6 million while only giving up snot boy's $3 million?
