True - more meaning the fact that your "new" password matched your "old" password. Any password you can remember isn't good enough! </nerd>
The app not acknowledging a clearly correct password can only be solved by not using that app anymore

Well the password might be "too easy", but part of the problem is needing a password for everything. Everything needs a password, even the most inane things. It's so ridiculous, so of course for "accounts" that are just pointless people are using stupid easily remembered passwords.

Exactly, this is just an app I use on my work phone, and I'm not going to put lastpass on my work phone. If someone were to get into this account they can't do anything with it, and it's not like I use the same extremely easy password for anything else. Which is what makes it so frustrating that the damn thing still wouldn't work, I set this up this way to be lazy. Let me be lazy, dammit

Not unexpected with inflation run amok, plus the building just got purchased by some Toronto company, but just finding out we're getting a 30% rent increase upon renewal. I get it for new renters to a building, but that's a fairly insane increase to existing renters. I'm actually surprised there's no cap on that provincially.
I definitely expected an increase, but 30% is wild. Someone would've lost to Billy Madison in Business Ethics...
EDIT: I can't do math apparently; 26%. Still wild

I thought we had some sort of legislation in Alberta that limited rent increases to a much smaller percentage (I don't know what the number is though.)

Our rental policies are so awesome, they’re being advertised to Ontario property investors!

I was getting it confused with the rule for only one rent increase every year. I thought that also included a maximum increase but apparently not.

super bumpy flight... previous flight a few weeks back was less bumpy and so back then they did not offer any beverage service. This flight... beverage service despite the extra turbulence. I get my drink and chug it. Lady next to me gets a pop drink and it sits on her little seatback tray bouncing around completely full for at least 5-10mins. Amazingly no spill. Gave me PTSD - a years ago similar thing except I was fully "anointed" due to turbulence and my slow drinking neighbour back then. Is this a gear grinder?

My landlord reached out to me 2 months ago with a 20% rent increase for this house, effective May 1.
I take possession of my new house April 20.

Ontario is a gross place to be a landlord. If you end up with a tenant who just decides to stop paying and becomes a squatter it will be measured in years before you can actually forcibly evict them.

There is certainly a balance. The Ontario eviction process is terrible also their rent control of limiting maximum rent increase to 2.5% seems pretty brutally tenant sided.
Unless the state is building housing this will limit the expansion of rental property. On the other hand 30% rent increases seem pretty extreme.

It is extreme, but sadly predictable. Its the natural reaction to the scarcity of supply.

Need to ban short term rental properties. Seems like the most obvious first step.
