At this point, having Pompey or Upton become the every day RF, would be an upgrade.
You can find options for a power bat on the free agent market. Sign Trumbo to a 4 year 80 million dollar contract if you want a power RF.

Cant have feelings dictate his salary. I'd sign Edwin and find a replacement bat for JBats.

We're seeing the big spenders like the Sox and Yankees shy away from these plus 35 veterans and move to younger guys. The Angles are choked by all the bad money they have on the books....Teams are starting to figure this out. You can't be committed to huge money for multiple years to guys who are 36-40. Sure the Bryce Harpers of the world will appeal and get big bucks...but not the aging guys.
I think that Stephen Brunt is right...Bautista, might just sign his QO if it's offered to him. It's likely the most lucrative dollars he'll get. Maybe someone will give him a couple years at a 13 per year dollar figure. But I don't see huge money to be offered for him now. Nelson Cruz got what 13 million for 3 years coming off a year where he lead the AL in home runs. IIRC he was 33 when he got that deal.

Good start today, Travis lead off double then a Jose single makes it 1-0 right away.

Yep, the bats looking great so far. Even Donaldson with the only out so far made really good contact.

What the.......? Jose could have gone back to 3rd and maybe made it back to make the bases loaded, instead he goes home with zero chance of being safe? What was he thinking?

It was the throw against Baltimore when he was yapping at their bench and trying to show them up.

If Bautista doesn't do that, they have a double play and innings is over.

Bautista likely would have scored had he not stopped, the catcher dropped the ball. Nice effort B

And they get out of it with 1 run. Frustrating.

Man, I love having Shulman but that commentary is a little crowded with Buck in there, too. It's almost like Tabler and Shulman leave him an awkward space for his take because they have to, and Buck typically repeats what one of them just said.
Then by the time he's done Shulma usually has to really quickly make a comment about the next batter who is now facing a pitch. It comes off really awkward, imo.

Yup. When Tanaka lends you a hand like that, you got to take advantage of it. Especially. Especially with RA Suckey taking the mound today.
