Any concern that Tre just traded for two players without contracts?? What do we expect to sign them for??

I’m laughing the 960 guys trying to get a hold of Lindholm. Sweden is playing Germany at the World Cup. I gurantee is drunk and watching the game. Could be a fun interview if they do get a hold of him.

I think we are going to see the Flames make a big push for Neal, Nash, or Grabner... maybe Perron.

Personally, I'd like to see the Flames put Bennett back with Backlund and Frolike where he's had success and to get Tkachuk onto a more offensive line. Could end up looking like this:

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Jankowski - Neal
Bennett - Backlund - Frolik

I'd be pretty excited going into the season with a line up like that.
Martin Frk is going to be a dark horse signing. And will fit within the dynamic of the team.

Exactly, Flames did not solve any of their problems today.

I thought Lindholm was both.

It's funny how fans keep saying Fox wasn't going to sign so it was ok to throw him in, how about max the value of the asset by asking Carolina to add a conditional pick if he signs with him. Treliving again bends over to get a deal done, and fans are applauding him for swinging for the fences. Treliving swung for the fences (again) and if these players don't live up to "potential", it will set the franchise back again.

I don’t know why you’re comparing him to Bennett at all. He’s better than Ferland, that’s really all that matters IMO.

Trevling may have just saved his NHL career.

There was no indications that Hamilton's problems, motivation and Hockey IQ were going to be fixed by coaching.

I thought it was totally ridiculous that CP posters imagined that it was going to be Hamilton for Lindholm and Hafinin as though Hamilton was an elite D-man.

Now looking for the Flames to make the playoffs this year, without a miracle 17 game winning streak.

Can you post the transcript of these talks?

We dont know what Tre asked for.
And im doubtful 30 teams lined up to trade a 1st for an unsigned Fox.

That's true no matter what. It's true for every player and every team in the NHL. This trade does not change that. It's true for Lindholm and Hanifin and it was true for Hamilton, Fox and Ferland.

That being said, both Dougie and Ferly had big years due to their linemates. We sold high on both for sure.

Dougie has had non stop character issue whispers, and if Fox indicated he was going to test free agency, his value plummets league-wide. But Ferland hurts for me as I was a huge fan, but I agree he's due for an overpayment as he's amazing when Johnny and Monahan are clicking, but fairly invisible in any other situation.

Lindholm and Hanifin are both core pieces though. I think we're underrating both here mostly.
We’ll overpay Ferland in 2020.

I was not happy at first, because I do think Fox will be a great d man. I was pissed.

Now that it has sunk in, I kinda like the deal. Dougie had to go. Clearly some red flags now with that guy. Players with his skillset and physical tools should never be traded twice already.

We needed that upgrade at forward in Lindholm. He's gonna be an important player for the Flames for years to come. Hanifin has the potential to be a better all around player than Dougie too.

Lindholm might not even know he's traded yet.
