I just went to the Museum of Witchcraft.
I'd like to request that Bethesda renames it the Museum of Nopecraft.

I can get behind that.
Apparently you can nuke a Savage Deathclaw and it won't die.

I dumped two nukes into that one at the museum and didn't even drop him below half health. I had to wait until I leveled up a bit, then once I got a combat shotgun with exploding ammunition I went in complete rambo style and wrecked him. One of the most satisfying quests to complete

I finally gave up trying to kill it fairly. I placed like 15 frag mines on the ground and lured it towards them.

I switched to using an Xbox360 controller on my PC to get around the annoying keyboard mapping. Much, much better experience. And I notice said controllers are $20 at Memory Express, on sale, should you not have one.

How is that not fairly? That's just good tactics. Bottlecap mines with the right perqs are the great leveler.

I found this fight surprisingly anti-climactic. Also, I was disappointed when I returned the Deathclaw egg to the nest, and nothing happened.
Actually, I suppose the Deathclaw at the nest didn't kill me, so that's a reward in itself.

There are? I haven't seen any. I wouldn't mind actually remapping my perks as I totally ignored luck and it appears in this is one of those rare games where luck perks can make a big difference.

I've been trying to stay North and West as much as possible with Diamond City area being the farthest out. I've done a lot of quests for the Brotherhood out of the Cambridge police station to build up my level. Speaking of which, I do enjoy saving the game while I'm there. I let Knight Rhys say yet another d-bag remark to me after I've helped him for the umpteenth time. I then choose another inventive way of killing him before going back to my saved game
I was staying away from the Glowing Sea based on other remarks for as long as I could. But it didn't end up being all that bad, it was just more of my deep water phobia.
And a little spoilerish

I did the witchcraft at 18. It was HARD! I used way to many stimpaks and way too much minigun ammo.
Set frag sensor mines all the way down to the exit. IMO

I have no idea how you're level 45 staying in the Northwest quadrant of the map. There isn't THAT much to do... you don't even get real Brotherhood of Steel quests til you progress the story.
The Glowing Sea isn't actually a SEA, either

Sorry, I wasn't trying to say 45 and being NW in the same sentence. I think I got to about 30 doing the clearing out/technology quests from the Brotherhood, they are not a part of the main story and it seems like there is an endless amount of them. Especially the technology ones, I seem to be going back into the same buildings over and over between them, Minutemen, settlers, etc. At 45 I was at the castle, airport and have now completed the Glowing Sea story quest.
I found that after the Glowing Sea my settlements got real unhappy. I think it triggers a progression in their evolution as I went from 80% to 60% fairly quickly at quite a few settlements.

What level did y'all take on Swan at? He's the giant hulking Super Mutant with what looks like the wing of a plane on his arm. I stumbled upon him, his whole my dog distracted him (in fact he one-shorted my dog), and set up so many frag and cap mines. I lured him over and he keep loses into a billion pieces.
I'm currently level 18.

Nope, not at all actually.
I basically predicted it from the start of the game.

Museum of Witchcraft is easy. Just go to the top of the stairs where the Deathclaw can't go, shoot it while it's walking away, and when it runs towards you run back through the doorway to the top of the stairs. Kinda lame, I know, but it works.
