How about Zack Adama? That'll blow your mind!

As for the timeline I'm pretty sure it was something like this (but correct me if I'm wrong):

-Humans and "Gods" live together on Kobol
-Something happens and 12 tribes of the humans leave for what becomes the 12 colonies
-The thirteenth tribe heads another way and settles on Earth

However some think that originally everyone came from Earth, something caused them to leave and find Kobol. The something most likely being some sort of destruction, thus the "all this has happened before" line.

Its tough to guess on anything after the twist.

I still think I'm right that the final Cylon is frankly going to end up being "God"

I think one of the keys is that everything thats happened has happened before.

Earth is a breakaway colony maybe, so the original humans from Cobol ended up their while the other humans went to the 12 colonies.

The humans on the 12 colonies fought, destroyed each other, created Cylons who turned on their humans and fought a destructive war and then left to form their own society.

Then the cylons in a mirror image of humanity created 12 models of human replicates. 5 left and went to earth, while the other 7 models attacked and destroyed their gods, but then caused a civil war thats for the most part has reduced the Cylon race to mortals and probably massively reduced the Cylon population.

Meanwhile its logical to assume that the final 5 found earth, and the mythical human colony. The question is, did they leave before the destruction of the colony? Did they cause the destruction of the colony? Did the destruction just happen? By the use of radiation, we're supposed to assume that the humans wiped each other out?

So going back to the theme that this has all happened before? We've probably seen multiple destructions of civilization and its caused when the children (Cylons) get anywhere near their gods.

I'm assuming that next year, the fleet will stay at earth and try to discover the secret. The viper is key as it received a human distress secret.

So questions for next year.

1) Do the 4 cylons have memories that will be activated? They've been there . . . to earth

2) Did they witness the destruction of the colonies?

3) Did they cause the destruction of the colony?

4) Do we know? Have we seen the final cylon model?

5) Who built Starbucks Viper? Again hers was trashed they mentioned that this one seemed to be new?

6) Will Roslin die early next year? Her role is done, she lead the humans to earth.

One last guess. I think the 5th cylon is someone that we don't know well, but we've seen, I keep going back to the mythics of that cylon and how he probably represents that link between man and god. Because of that I go back to the final Cylon also an amalgamation of all of the previous cylon models, each of which represents to me some kind of sub roman god. Lets call the final cylon the Zeus of all Cylons.

Anyways I prefer the twist ending, basically the fleet arriving at some kind of paradise of a planet teeming with humans would have been a cop out.

Some things that still have to happen

1) The mother of all battles between the humans and the other faction of cylons.

2) Roslin must die

3) The final 4 have to remember their time on earth

4) They need to find the source of the music and the signal, they find that they find the 5th

5) Baltar needs to be nailed to the cross.

6) Everything needs to start over again.

7) Starbuck has to either die or lead everyone to destruction.

The finale restored my faith in the show, not that it was wavering per say. As stated before it reminded me why I got so obsessed to begin with.

So was that a wasted New York skyline? Seemed like it to me with the bridge as the final shot there.

Good ending, the last two seasons have been slow, painfully slow, but they know how to end each season with a bang.

great episode. kind of strange though. almost like "where do they go from here?" The whole point was to find earth, and they've done that. That episode could have been a show finale, and it would have been a pretty good and powerful one at that.

But I guess we have a lot left to learn about the last cylon model, where they came from, what happened to the 13th tribe, what happens with cavil and those other guys, what happens to roslyn etc.

It looked exactly like they were standing in Brooklyn and looking over the East River into a ruined Manhattan. The bridge piers at the very end looked strikingly like the Brooklyn Bridge, and if you look closely you can what appears to be New Jersey way off in the distance.

Of course, they could also be messing with everyone. The show is filmed in BC, so the landscape similarities could just be coincidence, but there are few places more iconic to western audiences then New York.

What were the guys on that show who made it to earth called? Dale and Drew or soemthing? lol re the flying motorcycles. Do you remember the one where the centurion turned up at the hallween party?

Great finale! A little Planet of the Apes there at the end but still very very good ending.

Is it an absolute certainty it is Earth at this point? Gaeta said the constellations matched but which constellations was he comparing it to? It's also interesting they were lead to a dead planet by Starbuck who is apparently the harbinger of death. Conincidence?

There's still a lot of questions to answer next season. I just can't believe I have wait 8 months to find out...

I thougt of that as well. Perhaps the signal wasn't to find earth at all, perhaps it was another marker or waypoint.

In season 4.5 they will have to find the source of the signal and find out what kind of beacon it is or why only the viper could pick it up.

And yes, I remember thinking that as well watching the show. Kara is the harbinger of death. Kara herself even said all the things the hybrid said have been true, except she left the little tidbit out about her being the destructor of humanity and all.

"All this has happened before, and all of it will happen again." It's an interesting phrase, and a central theme to the story. And really a central theme to our understanding of life. "Those Who Forget History Are Doomed to Repeat It"

What they have found on earth is possible the end of one cycle. The anihalation of the race by whatever means, and the starting over by the last remaining band of brothers partnered with their cylon allies. The question is, will the cycle continue, or will cylon/human, human/human and cylon/cylon heal in order to break the cycle and be able to grow together?

In his blog Bear McCreary (the composer of the BSG music) says that this is Earth. Also this show is good enough to not pull any pathetic sucker punches like it not being earth.

I believe the constellations that Gaeta says it matches were based on the constellations those that went into the temple saw on Kobol in season 2. Remember when they were suddenly standing in a grass field at night looking up at the sky, and they realize they are on earth.

Yeah, but the earth they were standing on was a lot different from the earth their on now.

The earth when they saw the constellations was nice and lush with tall grass and a beautiful night sky.

The earth their on now is a dead nuclear wasteland.

And someone must have a photographic memory to remember the positions of the constellations and then relay them to Gaeta later.

Remember a television show only needs to write at the speed of plot.

It's earth, this show doesn't pull any stupid punches.

The did that on purpose, it was the last episode they got done before the Writer's Strike so they weren't sure if they would get the do the rest.

I had heard that the next episode "Sometimes a Great Notion" was meant to be the backup finale in case the strike caused it to have to be cancelled. Kate Sackhoff filmed the final scenes of the episode as the cast was having their shutdown party.

That could be, although I reported what I had read. Which seemed to make sense to me as mid season finale ending had a sort of "Soprano's" ending feeling to it, which RDM apparently loved

^stolen from another site. But it looks like the Brooklyn Bridge to me.

I kind of like not knowing where the story is going next. There are so many options now that speculation is somewhat moot. This is not a bad thing. What is a bad thing is that we have to wait 8 months to see what happens next.

But if we need controversy we have this pic that may or may not include a Christian symbol.

That collapsed wall on the ground between the two people walking in the distance appears to have a cross on it. Or at least that's what I think the poster of the picture is saying. I didn't notice it myself.

interesting. that's all CGI, right? So it's intentional... whether it was intentionally made to look like a cross or not, i don't know.
