I'm loving Alien: Earth so far! Agree that the boy prodigy/genius is a bit of a weak spot. Wendy has been the best for me as well.
Its got some work to do for me still. Its amazing looking, but thus far I'm not seeing the fascination with Wendy or the actress, she comes across as a 'Bargain Basement' Johnny Depp Willy Wonka.
And the genius billionaire kid? I'd have slapped that apple out of his hand and shoved it down his throat for being obnoxious. Ugh...his little tirade about an 'interesting conversation?' Lame.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

I thought for sure Boy Genius was going to start putting jolly ranchers into people's mouths. His character would be so much better if they just toned it down a notch.

Do you mean the Boy Kavalier as a bargain basement Willy Wonka?
How the hell does Wendy seem like that at all?? lol

Episode 2 of Alien Earth was fun. The Xeno seems to stalk solo targets but goes hamm on groups. I also think it seems larger than of drones we have seen?
The eyeball stuff was fun too, the sequence was creepy and weird.
I'll start with the positives and then spoiler most of the rest. At least they sort of got the 'Old School' Superman tone back. Its not dark and gritty its bright and mostly hopeful.
Okay that was the positives. End of list.
Spoiler!
Sadly, I was pretty much dead-on accurate from watching the trailer. Krypto the dog did the vast majority of the heavy lifting in this movie. Pretty much the only good character.
All the rest of the characters essentially sucked, I'll give Mr. Fantastic a bit of a pass. He was okay.
Making Clark's parents bumpkins was certainly one way to go.
Is the last 45 minutes of the film a Classically ridiculous DC CGI-Punchfest? Why yes. Yes it is. How did you guess? Is all of Metropolis a devastated wasteland? You bet. Is some non-descript dustbowl at the other end of the world miraculously saved? Oh yes.
This movie is like James Gunn forgot to take his downers in order to stay level it was so over-the-top Gunn ridiculous for huge swathes of runtime. It reminded me a lot of Thor: Love and Thunder where Waititi wasn't held in check. It was just over the top at points.
And a Supergirl cameo as some drunken Valley Girl? Why?
Anyways. A generous 4/10.
And it can thank Krypto for most of that.
Still better than the last few Superman/Justice League movies though, granted, that is a bar so low even Hermes Conrad couldn't limbo under it.

Only about 15 people in the theatre, unsurprisingly mostly 40-somethings with their kids. I was more excited for them.
Seeing it on the big screen, it actually felt more dated than when I last watched it at home a few years ago. It's still great, don’t get me wrong--and the focused theatre setting made it easier to catch little details I’d missed before. But the slow pacing and long stretches without action started to drag.
I’m glad I went, but it’ll probably be my last retro screening. When I saw Batman: Mask of the Phantasm at Eau Claire maybe 10-15 years ago, I enjoyed that one much more.
Enjoying Alien: Earth so far, Noah Hawley is perfect for this. The Peter Pan overtones are brilliant especially with the tech bro who never grows up. Sydney Chandler as Wendy is insanely gorgeous and carries every scene she's in.

Just finished Daredevil: Born again and am annoyed. What a mess making this both a reboot and a sequel. Starts off with one storyline that gets wrapped up quickly, then we get introduced to an awesome villain who is gone an episode later, before finally getting the main story that doesn’t get resolved. Of course they did have time for a stand alone episode that did nothing for the plot and was basically Disney advertising that Daredevil is in the MCU now. Why would they get rid of two fan favourites only to replace their roles in the narrative with less interesting characters? Also Matt’s new GF is just the worst!
The saving grace is that Daredevil, Kingpin, and Punisher are such awesome characters so the show is still watchable despite the poor writing and Disney meddling.

Thuderbolts was awesome! Felt like an older MCU movie with the great balance of humour and emotion with some cool action scenes. Did a good job bringing existing characters together while introducing someone new. Biggest gripe is how the marketing immediately spoiled the New Avengers which would have been an amazing reveal. 9/10
Got me thinking how much the post End Game universe was botched with too many disconnected movies and streaming shows. Thunderbolts could have been a huge it if it followed directly after Black Widow and a Falcon and Winter Soldier Movie. Also the Far from Home post credits scene has the Skrulls which could have led to Captain Marvel 2: Secret Invasion aka Avengers 4.5. Then could have had Shang-Chi appear in Doctor Strange 2 given Wong was in that after credit's scene, and a Loki movie would have been a great way to introduce Kang instead of via Ant Man.
