I doubt he really thinks he can hold on to power. Right now, it is all about making Biden's job as hard as possible. He wants to cause division and impede the transition so that hopefully Biden struggles. Then Trump can claim he was better, and so on.
The president is the biggest national security risk in the U.S. at this time and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
Yup. This and he also wants to scam the Americans one last time and raise funds for the court fights that he has no intention to take forward and instead funnel those funds to his organization.
It certainly will be interesting. They're in an interesting position with regards to how their relationship with their market is changing.
the weird thing about Fox is they have been blindly stoking their own audiences disbelief in the media, pushing them off into bizarre ultra right wing web based sites that feed a constant diet of media distrust, you would think someone at Fox would have figured they were going to get bitten in the ass by this eventually and were feeding their own ultimate demise
I found it interesting that the surviving Koch brother has admitted what they did was a huge mistake, the Tea Party, Palin etc.
Maybe watching Trump lead the US towards the brink of civil war might make the numpties question whether that's good for the bottom line
Or is he trying to get publicity for his book...his actions did not really match his words
Quote:
In a new book co-authored by Koch — "Believe in People: Bottom-Up Solutions for a Top-Down World," slated for publication Tuesday — he reflects on what he called the divisiveness of his partisan politics.
"Boy, did we screw up!" he writes in the book. "What a mess!"
Despite Koch's calls for unity, his political contributions largely favored GOP candidates in the 2020 election cycle, with $2.8 million donated to Republicans and just $221,000 for Democratic candidates, the Journal reported.
The Koch’s have worked tremendously and benefited greatly at the expense of the average American citizen. Pandering to an audience with an end goal of money and control is all this is, and I would bet my savings his book is full of rhetoric that while throwing shade at trump manages to extol all the normal virtues of corruption, greed, and shameful policy in government.

It's so interesting to me that there are so many that see no causality in supporting the popularity of these hosts and programs, and what has happened. If people watch, the influence of the star's grows.
The most-viewed shows on Fox News are the propaganda hours provided by Carlson and Hannity. In the second quarter of 2020, Carlson’s Tucker Carlson Tonight set a record high for the number of viewers, with 4.331m, while Hannity’s show Hannity drew the second best ever figures, with 4.311m.
The amount of influence these two clowns have gotten in the last 4yrs is unbelievable. You can't even blame News Corp for what they're doing, they're giving the people what they want. Fox News is the most watched news in America and Tucker/Hannity are the most watched programs.
Like someone else said before, Trump was the way he was before the Apprentice. People that watched that show in the numbers they did gave that charlatan an enormous platform to launch from. You may not have voted for him, and you wouldn't have known then what you would have created, but looking back, would you follow the same path knowing the outcome?
Where is the 700,000 stolen votes in PA coming from, any one know?
I'm guessing nothing remotely substantial.

I think Trump Peaked at about a 700,000 vote lead in Pennsylvania, because of the way people voted, and the way votes were counted. This was never a real lead and election modelers came out while that lead still existed and confidently stated that Biden had won the state simply based on the number votes that needed to be counted and where they were coming from. Those modelers were correct.
Trumps fragile ego not only cannot handle losing, he can't handle losing ground. He doesn't understand anything about counting votes, when the count showed him ahead he thought that this was some kind of live sports game where he had built up that lead and did not understand all of these votes were cast before they started counting and he never had a lead, he had always lost by whatever the final tally was.
In Trumps deranged world view once he had that 700,000 vote "lead" that was the baseline for an acceptable result.
I turns out after all the stones they have turned over they have found 1 case of fraud in Pennsylvania. A Trump supporter mailed in a vote for his dead mother. But Trump needs to believe there are 700,000 illegal votes for Biden.

Are you really doing this? Unbelievable.
No. No one who watched The Apprentice is in any way responsible for what he became, nor for how he conducted himself in office. Donald Trump is responsible for being Donald Trump.

How do you know some asshat you enjoy watching for ***** and giggles is going to end up destroying western civilization as we know it though? I watch the occasional Joe Rogan episode, I cant tell whether he will go on to champion a weed/shroom based fascist regime that destroys the US (although it wouldn't come as a complete shock either)

A good interview with Congressman Jamie Raskin, who was also a constitutional law professor, covering a bunch of questions on what avenues Trump really has on stealing the election. He covers the idea discussed here in faithless electors at the beginning and says it's not a thing that we need to worry about.
Ah...I feel fooled by Bill Cosby. I mean there was definitely a feedback loop there for me. Same for Rob Anders and "team voting". If I could go back, I'd do things different. I can definitely see the causality of what I did enabled those POS's the platform to do what they did.
Anyway...I guess I'm a little gobsmacked that we've got thousands of posts in these US politics threads and in the same thread we have Apprentice fans that watched the guy for multiple seasons and feel zero culpability. Donald Trump is responsible for Donald Trump, but we didn't have to give him enough eyeballs to feign an attempt at the presidency in 2012, and then actually win in 2016.
Happy to hear all the minority report / time travel retorts...I'm a sci fi fan at heart and there are a lot of smart folks here.
I'll just chime in and say that I never watched one second of the Apprentice. Not only did I find the format of the show ridiculously stupid, I also thought Trump was a grade A ####### even way back then. I had no idea he could be this evil and depraved, but I sure didn't want to watch him on TV.

I know it’s because of traffic and money, but if Twitter has to put disclaimers on almost every one of his tweets now saying they’re lies and he’s not an official source maybe it’s time to cut bait? Let him go to the echo chamber on parler or something.

I think they have to wait until Jan 20th.
