Probably a good idea to not give Wardlow a mic in the future. He's awful.

And why they keep bringing up WWE stuff and CM Punk stuff is literally insanely stupid and does nothing for AEW.
That Purrazo vs Rayne match was one of the most awful matches that I've ever seen, and we had a grusome moment when Rayne's spiked herself head first into the mat,
And it wasn't a super complex move, it was badly executed on both sides. But man I thought Rayne's had broken her freaking neck.

It wasn't that bad. Had intensity, didn't stumble, goes into angry, jaded heel mode. Playing the big guy monster role to a classic tee.
That's a promo any big hoss over 6'5 could have delivered and it wouldn't have felt out of place.

Yeah, I thought Wardlow's promo was fine and the Punk stuff worked in the context of his character arc.

Obviously it's subjective, but most of the reviews online are praising Wardlow's promo. Watching it live, I thought it was the best one of his career to date. It'd be nice if this actually led to a proper push for the guy. He's gotten much better in the ring and on the mic since his debut.

He needs to shed the Kingdom, go on his own (stop joining stables), and have him get in Tony's face for a title shot. I mean he probably makes the most sense to dethrone Joe. You get an instant rub by taking the title off of him (which is also why I want Swerve to win it too).

To me it came out a lot of yelling; huffing and puffing. So much repetition and shouting into the mic. The whole booking of The Kingdom is bonkers. I bet in 2-3 months it'll be disbanded, quietly. The Devil storyline went nowhere, and as expected had basically no payoff. Booking it around two injured talents wasn't a good idea.
In other news R-Truth is a national treasure. He went to Austria instead of Australia for Elimination Chamber. I hope they have a segment with him confusing the two. "Where are all the kangaroos, wallabees, and slouch hats at? I came to see Crocodile Dundee... not the symphony"

Edit: Speak of the devil... The Devil storyline won worst gimmick of the year for 2023 at WON. I'm not sure why Toni Storm is on there, at least she has a gimmick that's different from the norm. It works for her.
The top five:
1 - The Devil
2 - QTV
3 - Toni Storm
4 - House of Torture
5 - The Outcasts

Hilarious that is the list. So many worse storylines and gimmicks around.

Toni Storm also at the top for best storyline, so Observer fans continue to not know what they want.
Considering the vitriol towards WWE that usually comes from that crew, I'm shocked they put WWE in as the top promotion. It was true for the year of 2023, but I am still shocked they voted for it.

WWE is very good right now, so good they hardly have enough spots for all their talent.
Logan Paul and Dirty Dom are such good Heels they make anyone they face look strong.

Drew has also.been doing masterful work as a heel on Raw. I love how he's rifting on Punk's injury. I wonder if Punk gave him his blessing. He's must watch TV on Raw these days. I assume he goes over Rollins at Mania, as he won't go 0-3 in their rivalry... Then Punk/Drew will be a massive program when Punk returns from injury in the summer.

I was a huge wrestling fan from 1988-2001 and would tune in every week and I'm sure others watched in those times as well. Sad news to pass along.

In every wrestling biography and book I've read Haku comes across as one of the most loyal and great guys in the business. But also the legitimately toughest man that wrestling has ever seen and someone you do not mess with every.

Apparently Tony Khan asked Martha Hart's permission for Sting's spot on Wednesday, coming down from the rafters to save Darby. I love that kind of story, makes Tony seem human. I don't know what's going on with Miro and his health.
He's probably another guy sulking and wants to head back to Stanford. Someone else with attitude issues, and possibly doesn't want to put anyone (Miro feels beneath him) over.
