Speaking on Thursday to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said, “I have read someplace that the networks were 97% against me, again, 97% negative, and yet I won and easily, all seven swing states,” referring to his 2024 election win.
“They give me only bad publicity, press. I mean, they’re getting a license,” Trump said, according to audio from a press gaggle provided by the White House.
“I would think maybe their license should be taken away,” Trump said.
The president said that the decision “will be up to Brendan Carr.”
Hey, authoritarianism is alive and well in the states.
You are going to end up with a lot of dead celebrities.
I honestly think this is going to become a very real and very serious problem alongside school shootings in the USA. Look at how much notoriety Tyler Robinson is getting.
I'm trying not to go too deep into the alt-right memelord/groyper rabbit hole because I'm still trying to figure out if it's real, but if these guys are actually responsible for the shooting and doing it for the lulz you have a whole new population of young adults who DGAF about anything....as long as it creates chaos and is hilarious to them. It isn't right vs left anymore, it's "did it go viral, was it funny and did it throw a wrench in someone's spokes"?
The reaction to bluejays post is exactly why the left is so ####ed. Pick your ####ing battles.
One person went over the top. The rest of us argued against the idea that Kimmel deserved to be fired anyway because he wasn't funny.
If that's the kind of mild ass s### that's compromising the left then we never stood a chance in the first place.
Here's an idea: if you don't want to have your post ravenously picked apart, maybe put a little thought into what you're typing before you hit 'Submit Reply'.

Honestly it just seemed like pointless bickering to me, but I see what you mean. And I hate that I used "the left" as an all-emcompassing description like many alt-right MAGA trolls do.
I'm just fed up with shouts of fascism on social media when they should be in the streets protesting and ####ing #### up if they have to. I tried to get my uncle, who hates Trump as much as anyone, to cancel his Disney+ and he can't be bothered to do a tiny gesture like that. We're so ####ed.

Some in my community are getting rid of their streaming services, forming book discussion groups, putting together a sewing circle. It’s a matter getting back to something fulfilling. Some in the sewing group have never made clothes. Others have never grown a tomato plant. Any kind of connection helps. Small things makes us stronger together. It has to be more than “see ya at the next protest.”
Sure, there’s nothing revolutionary there but my god this constant barrage is draining.

Can't argue with that.

Still nothing from The Fonz about what to appreciate about Charlie?
I’ll take a shot at this; the thing I appreciate about Charlie Kirk is that if it was just me and him alone together, I wouldn’t feel the dumbest one in the room.

There are protests weekly (or more) in the area in which I live. What I do not see is the Democrats saying or doing much, outside of the usual Newsome, Pritzker, Buttigieg push backs. I pretty much think ####ing #### up plays right into Trump's hands of needing troops to control the 'radical left'. What I will never understand is all the so called patriots on the right going along with the continued erosion of constitutional rights.
America has been through worse, and this is going to get much worse before it ever gets better - if it does. We should remember RFK and MLK were assassinated 2 months apart. That's just America being America

“House Republicans today brought to the floor a resolution ‘honoring the life and legacy’ of Charlie Kirk. I voted NO.
“Condemning the depravity of Kirk’s brutal murder is a straightforward matter – one that is especially important to help stabilize an increasingly unsafe and volatile political environment where everyday people feel at risk. We can disagree with Charlie and come together as a country to denounce the horror of killing. That is a bedrock American value.
"It then only underscores the majority’s recklessness and intent to divide by choosing to introduce this resolution on a purely partisan basis, instead of uniting Congress in this tragedy with one of the many bipartisan options to condemn political violence and Kirk’s murder, as we did with the late Melissa Hortman. Instead, the majority proceeded with a resolution that brings great pain to the millions of Americans who endured segregation, Jim Crow, and the legacy of that bigotry today.
“We should be clear about who Charlie Kirk was: a man who believed that the Civil Rights Act that granted Black Americans the right to vote was a ‘mistake,’ who after the violent attack on Paul Pelosi claimed that ‘some amazing patriot out there’ should bail out his assailant, and accused Jews of controlling ‘not just the colleges – it’s the nonprofits, it’s the movies, it’s Hollywood, it’s all of it.’ His rhetoric and beliefs were ignorant and sought to disenfranchise millions of Americans – far from ‘working tirelessly to promote unity’ as asserted by the majority in this resolution.
“It is equally important that Congress unites to reject the government’s attempt to weaponize this moment into an all-out assault on free speech across the country. All in the name of Charlie Kirk, the Trump Administration, and the FCC are now cynically threatening to shut down ABC and any outlets who give airtime to his political critics. This is a disgusting attack on the American people and the very First Amendment rights that define us as a country. It is also ABC’s responsibility to refuse to participate in this corruption and escalation of censorship.
“We continue to pray for Mr. Kirk’s family and loved ones in the wake of this terrible act. I’m thinking especially of his children and his wife, whose grief cannot be measured.”
Video version. Excuse the terrible source. #### the NY Post.

Morrisey just cancelled concerts after death threats in Ottawa.
I'm sorry for linking to facebook, I'm a millennial what can I do.
Can we start a dox list of people on facebook openly advocating for ethnic cleansing now? In response to a banner hung above deerfoot trail advocating for ethnic cleansing in Alberta.
Is that how you do non-violent political conflict? You accuse them of inciting violence, then invite others to let them know how upset we are with them.
