I was told I was being childish and shouldn't do it as I'm an owner. Tex is being told he's toxic and escalates things.
I know personally I've become more engaged in the site of late. I really haven't been in the "wars" since my health battle and had taken a step back. Lately I find it necessary to push back on the negativity (just my opinion) and make it a little less comfortable for those that seem to get off on drive bys and snide remarks.

For my part, I have probably become less engaged on the site of late, and I think a lot of that has to do with shifts in the prevalent tone. It is not like we on the moderation team have regular discussions about these sorts of things or that it is by design, but my impression is that there has been an increased latitude and tolerance for stuff that might have been more severely reprimanded in the past. (FYI, the last suspension issued was nearly two months ago, and there have been very few infractions in that same timeframe.) It is important to take the temperature of the Board every now and then, and I think I am right that the tone has become angrier, frustrated, and with this emotional shift I suspect probably a little less rational.
And I get it. I am sure Bingo gets it too, which is why there is a lot of leeway provided right now for posters to yell and scream, and even post (harmless) nonsense, because that seems to be what some people need or want right now. But of course, the shift in tone is not universal, and there are just as many posters who become overwhelmed or wearied by the notable increase in negativity that inevitably accompanies all the yelling and screaming. This is why Bingo is pushing back. This is why I will respond from time to time, and not always as diplomatically or as politely as some think I should. But then again, there is content and there are posters who invite vitriol, or ridicule in return.
