A lot of posters expressed their opinion before he ditched his AHL team and was suspended. Kind of a big factor. Yzerman is definitely behind the 8 ball now, though I didn't think he was prior to the suspension.

There is zero chance this gets you Drouin. I think Tampa would literally hang up the phone in Treliving's face.

Witherspoon has almost no value to any other team. And Klimchuk or Poirier are really nobodies who haven't done much even in the AHL.

Interesting news on Bigras being the centerpiece of a possible trade with the Avalanche. He is a nice prospect, probably with the value of a late first or more, an improvement over his draft position.

What would be Calgary's equivalent of a late first and maybe a third? (that Yzerman would want)

Maybe Granlund, + Kulak or Morrison and a 2nd?
Is that better than Bigras and a third?

The key with Bigras is that Yzerman is getting what he said he wanted - a young blueliner to step in. Bigras doesn't have a lot of NHL games under his belt but he may be ready.

The point is that Flames don't have an asset like that - that gives Yzerman what he wants. Just a bunch of "stuff" isn't gonna get it done.
