I wonder if Sansa or Jon will be able to get to Rickon before Ramsay does too much damage to him (although neither of them even know that Ramsay has Rickon in the first place). At this point Rickon would be the rightful heir to Winterfell, not withstanding Brans return, which I don't expect. If any combination of Rickon/Sansa/Jon were to take Winterfell back you would have the think the whole North, and possibly the Riverlands, Vale and others would rally behind them.

And remember, only a handful of people know that Bran and Rickon are alive (one being Ramsay). You have to think that Ramsay will use Rickon to lure Sansa and Bran back to Winterfell.

I think every time someone has complained about a "useless" scene, it's come back as an important piece of the story later on in the season.
You just have to be patient.

They're cracking down hard on piracy with notice email and take down requests.
It's never been easier to watch HBO in Canada, so really there should be absolutely no reason to pirate or stream it online.
Really, it's so easy. Just do it.

There is no Jon Stark. King Stannis offered to legitimize him, but Jon declined that offer. And King Stannis isn't any position to legitimize him any more anyway. There is no Jon Snow, Lord Commander of The Night's Watch. There is just Jon Snow.

I liked it. You only get out of the Night's Watch by dying. Check. You can only abdicate being Lord Commander by....dying. Check.
Thats a helluva technicality.
Its a shame there wasnt a microphone around for him to drop.

Still have to get TV though don't you? I don't want TV, so I still don't have a way to pay for HBO unless I use a proxy do I?

Just take a watch of House Slate to get an idea of how much is going on in these types of scenes. It's ridiculous. Like this week the scene with the Smalljon guy who captured Rickon. I was totally focused on the Ramsay oh noes angle I glossed over the story of the guy who captured him. Tied to a scene in season 2!
It's like that every week, so that is why I watch House Slate every week. Just a mountain of info you would gloss over.
I will warn you there is also future speculation that is well researched (educated guessing) so just warning those who don't like that speculation (again why you would be here then is another question).

Access to game of thrones isn't a right. Get a cable package and HBO or wait until it's out on iTunes.

So technically, there's no need for a Night's Watch now that the Wildlings are roaming the kingdoms. Right?

I didn't say it was a right, it was a question to find out if there was a way to pay for HBO without getting TV.

Hopefully someone reminds the Night's Watch why the Wall was built in the first place, and what the true threat is that they're protecting the seven kingdoms from.

You're right. Sorry, I got pretty aggressive quickly.
As far as I'm aware there is not. If you have a relative who has HBO with Shaw they likely have a "Free Range" account which you might be able to borrow, or even better, ask someone who has ShaW TV who doesn't get HBO if you can buy their HBO for them and use their free range account.

That didn't seem to work out so well for the last guy who did. Ended up with a mild case of death.

See, I was having this discussion with my son (bookreader) last night and he was saying that the Wall was built to keep the Wildlings out, now I cant remember all the details but I dont think thats right. Over time people forgot about the White Walkers and even stopped believing that they existed and the Wildlings became the more immediate threat, but I still thought the Wall was built to stop the White Walkers.
I mean, a 700ft wall seems a bit of overkill for some vagrants living in the woods.
