It was fairly quick, showed that his girl friend is going to his homeland while he intends to still go to the citidal. His farther is a supreme battle commander as mentioned by Stannis in the show. Book reader, but if he ends up important, I have no idea other then people talk about his skill at leading battles.

It would be awkward if they just appeared in their respective locations if it is the only scene they show between now and then, it was needed.

I really enjoy the Arya storyline. I really can't believe how long things are taking with Dany, though.

Interesting that what the Three Eyed Raven showed Bran about the battle with the Sword of the Morning was different than the accounts Bran heard about it growing up.

well considering it's Game of Thrones, it's likely that the least romantic version is likely true. I hope they don't use the rest of that scene as the end of season cliffhanger

I took it as honest Eddard Stark was willing to lie to protect the honour of the man who saved his life against Dayne. Possibly alluding to him lying for other reasons shortly...


Although really, you're fighting 4 on 1, is stabbing Dayne in the back really that more dishonourable?

I was confused with that as well. You are already participating in an open rebellion against the crown and you are going against one of the best fighters around to rescue your sister. Who cares if your buddy gets him in the back while you are fighting him in the front? That's like saying scoring on a rebound is dishonourable.

Thorne's story line was really well acted and written. You can see where he is coming from. When he simply admits to killing John in the hall while John is still dead, I realized I was going to miss his character if Jon came back.

Very good "not black and white" bad guy.

I think the issue is that we have a lot of things going on that we know will get resolved and as a result there isn't much suspense.

For example, we know Daenarys won't stay in that temple forever. We know Arya was going to get her vision back and become some kind of Jedi. We knew Jon Snow would come back to life and execute the people who betrayed him. We know the Lanisters will take out the religious sect.

Unfortunately, we are going to be stuck seeing things go through the motions for a while before we get to the good stuff. There's a lot of cleaning up that needs to be done.

I would argue the Sam scene will be significant. He's taking her home, to see Papa Tarly. I believe they will play a significant role in the story.
