Ultimately, I think we are seeing in hockey what baseball went through last year. A critical mass of controversial or blown calls that fall outside the current video review policies is being developed such that the governors can't put it off any longer. They have to review the concept of video review to allow for some of these situations to be challenged.
Fraser should have suspended from playoff hockey for 3 years after he blew it on the non-Gretzky call. Expanded review has to happen.
I've almost gone in the complete other direction and want video review removed altogether. I find, like this conversation so much is on the call and we analyze it down to a frame of video which is a fraction of a second in real life. I've actually started to hate football because of this, games are slower announcers are more annoying especially when they can't let a call go. It's a game played by humans leave it that way.
But I also see the need to get the call right. I just don't like the half assed way it is implemented.
