Cut your beard Delabar...Lind's is better and can probably pitch better right now. 5-3.

It's a shame Hutch didn't walk away with the win. He was great tonight. 7 IP, 3 hits, 7 k's, 0 ER........pretty nice line.

Yankees lose tonight to the A's in 10 innings. Baltimore wins, Sox lose, Rays lose.
Baltimore is now 2nd in the AL East, 4.5 games behind the Jays. Good times.

Great season so far. Even the pitching staff isn't too shabby with Hutchison going head to head with Sanchez tonight. They should try to acquire one more starter to shore up the 4 spot, as I'm unsure that Stroman can be a starter in this season and in the future.
I'm hoping they can keep this up and avoid a mid-late season collapse.

The Jays June Matchups are against
2 more vs Detroit (31-23)
3 at home vs St. Louis (30-29)
3 vs Minnesota (27-29)
4 at Baltimore (29-27)
3 at Yankees (29-28)
3 at Cincinnati (27-29)
3 vs Yanks (29-28)
4 vs White Sox (29-30)
So the Tigers are the only very good team, but the rest of the games are all against teams that are right at .500 give or take a game. Stiff competition between them all. The true indicator of how good this team is will come in the 6 games against the yanks. In the 25 remaining games, if we can win 13, that'll be fine. Any less than 11 and we'll start falling back to the rest of the pack.

Same thing happened in Calgary in 2003-04. Hell, we didn't even sell out the first game against Edmonton that year. But when the team closed in on a playoff spot, attendance skyrocketed. If the Jays are still in first by say, August 1, I expect the same will happen in Toronto.

Good game last night, shame Nathan blew things for the Tigers in the 9th. Tigers went from world beaters to average over the last 15 games. Hopefully they get their mojo back and tie the series today.

It won't take that long. I'd expect as early as this weekend the fans to come pouring in (because it's a great series, granted).
Very exciting time to be a Jays fan right now.

Oh yeah, the big weekend series have always drawn well. But its going to be those midweek sets that tell the tale. Moving from 15k to even just 25k would be huge.

Um, I don't really see the connection?
Flames were never really in contention for first in their division in 03-04 were they? Also there were no expectations for that team and no big superstars that were brought in for a run, no?

The Flames finishing 6th in the conference in 2004 and the Jays winning the division equates to the same thing: playoffs (and very excited fans after a long absent from the playoffs).

I know what it equates to. That's not what the article is about.
The article I posted is highlighting the fact that a first place team is not getting good attendance. The Flames were never in first place in 03-04. Not even close.
Moving on. Blue Jays game tonight.
I can't stand Dickey. Hopefully he pitches well.

I'm officially hopping on the bandwagon enough to post on a message board about it.
So I only saw the highlights from last night, but after the first inning they showed Bautista appear to get in Hutchison's face a little in the dugout... anybody know what was going on? Was it as innocent as a pep talk and sportsnet was just trying to create something out of nothing?
