Says the guy who pretends he has two degrees. But yes, cheering for idicroacy is an odd angle for someone who's businesses depend largely on highly educated employees. Denigrating their education is... a choice.

I thought there would have been instant retaliatory bloodshed. I also was hopeful he’d still lose.
The preferred path of history is obvious now.

I'm nowhere near a Trump supporter, but I'm glad he wasn't assassinated because I think that would've led to a lot of calamity and maybe civil war. I wouldn't be happy to wish for assassination for anyone, though, personally.

Because they support it too. If Americans didn't support this stuff, Trump's approval rating would be 4%.
The media doesn't help. You'd think there'd be more of a unified #### OFF YOU LYING PIECE OF ####, everywhere, worldwide, on every major news platform, etc. about him blaiming Ukraine.
BUT! Why is CNN having Stephen Miller on their network and giving him a modicum of respect when it's abundantly clear they deserve nothing but the gallows?
Same with IVF. The media is in the bag for Trump. All this gets ratings.
"Trump lowers IVF costs"
"Trump expands IVF"
"Trump makes IVF available for more people"
That #### is just lazy or biased reporting. The headlines make it like a fait accompli.
All Trump's executive order does it order a study to look at possible plans. Nothing may come of it. But good luck finding that.

I think fear is a big part of it. He has promised retribution against journalists who smear him, and bans journalists from access if they don't fall in line.
Mainstream media outlets are primarily businesses and the people who run them, fear for their livelihoods, and rightfully so.

I've seen lots of comparisons of Trump to Idiocracy, but he can't hold a candle to President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Camacho. The latter knew what his weaknesses were, found a person capable of fixing the greatest threat to the nation, and gave him full reign to fix it. We could only wish to see a President Camacho in our lifetime

Never thought I would say this but I'm glad there's 500 million guns in the hands of US citizen's.
All it takes is one to end this madness.

Unfortunately they've lined up an entire brigade to take his place. I don't think this ends with one bullet anymore. It certainly won't end with an election, and not with him dying or ending his term in office. He's built a movement that will not stop.

If Congress doesn't stop the latest Executive Order (they won't) and the Judiciary is ignored again, really the only thing that stops this is the Military.
Basically no one else seems willing to enforce law against him.

It's pretty wild how all the checks and balances responded to a fascist takeover by essentially shrugging their shoulders. American democracy wasn't nearly as robust as anyone thought it was. It's just too bad the rest of the world has to deal with their collapse, and they can't do it in isolation.

This EO just allows Trump to be rolling around Mega City One and telling everyone that "I am the Law!"
The Judiciary made themselves redundant when the SC said that he can get away with whatever he does while in office.

We fired all of our probationary folks yesterday. Had an all managers meeting today and our leadership only found out it had happened when those fired folks started emailing them. I'm so exhausted.

That was obviously never going to happen. Nah, "the shot" was our chance to live somewhat normal lives coming out a generational pandemic and climate change running up on us. The last thing we needed was to bank on was a guy like Trump suddenly being rehabbed/rehabilitated or getting locked up. Some people in this world just need to go by whatever means necessary. Not all life is precious. Just need a better shot next time.

Immunity from the law isn't the same as being able to define the law.

my concern is for the future. Democracy will have egg on it's face over this. The best democracy of all time seems like it folded like a cheap tent when internal pressure mounted. How does this reflect into future democracies?
Its a ripe scenario for oligarchs and technocrats to lock onto. Technoligarchy seems like it's the likely outcome. Dystopian.
Maybe we can set up an AI God King.

An assassination or attempted assassination at this point probably just accelerates the fall into full dictatorship.
You just know that they would blame it on liberals, immigrants, DEI hires, democrats, wokeness, or whatever else fits their agenda. Creating a crisis would just make it easier for whoever takes over on behalf of Project 2025.
