Referring to yourself again? The little troll that is on a Calgary Flames board but doesn't even pay attention to hockey, just here's to stir the pot in the off topic? Your life must be super pathetic for how much time you spend on here doing drive bys for self entertainment.

Exactly this. No way they'd allow Canadians to just take the jobs of Americans. That would be the one thing that would finally make MAGA go against Trump.

Part of me wants to agree that this seems most logical, but a larger part of me says we need to throw logic right out the window.
Ultimately, I believe the primary motivator for Trump to say things like "Canada 51st state hurr durr" isn't even about all the resource benefits, or security, or border control, or whatever. It's not even all about him being a Putin puppet, which IMO he most certainly is as it wonderfully explains basically every action he takes. No, this one goes beyond that. Trump is looking for legacy. The best, longest lasting legacy he can leave on America is expanding it, reviving manifest destiny and sealing American control over the continent. He looks at his predecessors, and even the reviled ones have places named after them resulting from such territorial expansion.
This is his way into the history books, in his view, in an unassailable way.
My opinion.

This also sounds kinda bad.

Quote:
However, previous administrations have allowed so-called “independent regulatory agencies” to operate with minimal Presidential supervision. These regulatory agencies currently exercise substantial executive authority without sufficient accountability to the President, and through him, to the American people. Moreover, these regulatory agencies have been permitted to promulgate significant regulations without review by the President.
These practices undermine such regulatory agencies’ accountability to the American people and prevent a unified and coherent execution of Federal law. For the Federal Government to be truly accountable to the American people, officials who wield vast executive power must be supervised and controlled by the people’s elected President.
Therefore, in order to improve the administration of the executive branch and to increase regulatory officials’ accountability to the American people, it shall be the policy of the executive branch to ensure Presidential supervision and control of the entire executive branch. Moreover, all executive departments and agencies, including so-called independent agencies, shall submit for review all proposed and final significant regulatory actions to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) within the Executive Office of the President before publication in the Federal Register.

Quote:
Sec. 6. Additional Consultation with the Executive Office of the President. (a) Subject to subsection (b), independent regulatory agency chairmen shall regularly consult with and coordinate policies and priorities with the directors of OMB, the White House Domestic Policy Council, and the White House National Economic Council.
(b) The heads of independent regulatory agencies shall establish a position of White House Liaison in their respective agencies. Such position shall be in grade 15 of the General Schedule and shall be placed in Schedule C of the excepted service.

Why does he put his own name in air quotes?
That, if anything, is his most egregious crime.

He's setting up for a transition to referring to himself as emperor or some other such ####. Or trying to make Trump a Caesar-like term.

There still people around here who are glad he survived the shooting at his rally? Seem to recall quite a few people saying they were glad he survived. Not sure why, but ok. This is what we now get.
Happy to say now, and back then, that a few cms would have likely made the world a better place. *Sigh*

I can't believe there aren't more assassination attempts on both Trump and Elon.
You'd think there'd be enough Americans watching their democracy die that someone would try something, almost daily.

I know this is in conspiracy theory territory but that assassination attempt always seemed pretty suspect to me. Seemed like something Putin would do, and right before an election. The reaction was unrealistic. Trump wasn't totally rushed off the stage. The SS let him expose himself for a photo op where he pumped his fist like a tough guy not knowing if there were multiple gunmen. Then they got the perfect marketing photo op.
Look at Trump's reaction in 2016 when he thought there was an assassin at a rally. He caved hard and they rushed him off the stage pretty quick. Or look at the Reagan footage and the chaos involved.
