I was starting to really like Nichushkin until i saw him get interviewed at the combine. Its just my opinion, but despite the obvious language barrier, he seemed like a real jerk. i can easily see him bolt to the Khl the first time he doesn't get what he wants.

Don't spill the beans, Feaster. You'll just further damage your reputation.

Ross McLean (head scout for ISS) put on his blog a few weeks ago who teams might draft over the next 3 drafts if their draft position is the same in those years. It's just for fun and I am sure he knows the rankings aren't likely to hold.
But still, it's interesting to get a sneak peak at who the high profile kids are in advance.

Calgary
2013 – Sean Monahan (other options: Sasha Barkov, Bo Horvat)
2014 – Leon Draisaitl (other options: Jack Glover, Jake Virtanen)
2015 – Noah Hanifin (other options: Oliver Kylington, Dylan Strome)
Calgary is one of the most likely teams to end up having their position and projection on this list come true. They have finally committed to a rebuild and Flames fans can rejoice in the fact that these drafts could give them a plethora of exciting young talent. The idea that Monahan (who reminds me of Eric Staal) and Draisaitl (who reminds me of a slightly less productive Evgeni Malkin) could end up on the same team is almost reason to go out and buy a Flames jersey right now. Add to that the possibly of adding a franchise defender in 2015 with Hanifin, Kylington or Pilon or grabbing another electrifying forward like Strome and the flicker the Flames have right now gets very bright very fast. Also of note is their 2 other 1st round picks in this year’s draft. By 2015/2016 the Flames could possess one of the most exciting organizations in the entire sport.

This seems like 1990 all over again with Nichushkin playing the part of Jagr. Who will be the team to take a chance on this kid and potentially hit a home run? Similar question marks as Jagr but similar talent level.

Barring any change in position for our three picks I would be thrilled to come away with Monahan, Rychel, and Morrissey. Monahan could be the #1 center we've been looking for, Rychel a big physical scoring winger. The only one I would maybe change is Morrissey, perhaps for Morin as others have mentioned he would fill a glaring need in the Flames organization if he were to pan out. Still nothing wrong with Morrissey definitely looks like one of the better PP QB type players this year.

Interesting to look at but it's so ridiculous to look at who we could potentially draft in 2015. You often see guys who are looked upon as top 10 picks a year before their draft, let alone two, plummet for any number of reasons.

Okay, final wish list...
1st (6th) : Sean Monahan - just look what his "nhl comparable" is doing
1st (22nd) : Valentin Zykov // Anthony Mantha
1st (28th) : Samuel Morin
---
2nd (if acquired through trade) : Ryan Hartman // Morgan Klimchuk
---
3rd : Bogdan Yakimov
---
5th: Gustav Olofsson
---
Rest: high-reward projects or goalies.

Crash and Bang Winger
|
On draft day...
Feaster meets with his scouts and they all continue to mention picking BPA. However, Feaster has decided that for the center position they would prefer to draft BPA + size, while the wingers would be purely BPA.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
1) Flames trade #6 overall pick + Cammallari (with 2M retained by the Flames) to Nashville for the #4 overall pick.
As it turns out, Nashville have had their sights set on Elias Lindholm for quite some time now. They have just recently acquired his fellow international swedish teammate Filip Forsberg and would love to have the two as a one-two punch down the road. However, due to the departure of Erat, they would love to fill his shoes with Cammy as they are sorely lacking a goal scorer. Cammy doesn't want to play in Calgary for a full rebuild and Nashville knows its not quite in the same situation with already a strong defense + goaltending core + bright forward prospects. Due to those reasons, they feel Cammy won't just be a rental and will resign with them afterwards. Anyhoo, Calgary retains 2M of salary to sweeten the pot. It seems like a steep price to pay to move up 2 spots but that is simply how much Feaster loves Barkov and pays a premium to get him. Feaster tries to throw tanguay at nashville instead, however they want cammy due to term, age, and the reasons I mentioned above already.
Pick #4 Overall - Aleksandr Barkov
Pick #22 Overall - Anthony Mantha - 6'4, 50 goals, Reminds Feaster of Ryan Getzlaf. Feaster even has him #15 on his list and is happy to select the centreman.
Feaster is not done as he would like to trade tanguay as well since he doesn't want to stay for the rebuild either. He goes on hfboards and searches up tanguay's value and realizes that Colorado would be willing to part ways with their 2nd for him!! Ecstatic, Feaster calls up Sherman and turns out he was the one that made the proposal!!
Flames Trade Alex Tanguay to Avalance for their 2nd round pick #31st overall
Pick #29 Overall - Ian McCoshen - 6'2 200+ pounds defenseman. Same size as Barkov. Did I mention he's going to play with Johnny Gaudreau next year and is one of the best COLLEGE prospects in this draft?! Wiesbrod runs to the podium to call this one.
Pick #31 Overall - Morgan Klimchuk Feaster originally wanted to use this pick for Petan but the stupid Canucks picked him, so Feaster drafts Morgan Klimchuk instead.
I don't know anything about the other picks so I won't go into detail about that.
In summary, the flames draft transactions:
In: Barkov, Mantha, McCoshen, Klimchuk, etc.
Out: Cammy, Tanguay, #6, #22, #28, #31, etc.
Free Agency (With all the cap space, sign these players): Filppula, Clarkson, Fistric
Flames Roster:
Clarkson - Filppula - Glencross
Baertschi - Backlund - Hudler
Horak - Stajan - Stempniak
Mcgrattan - Reinhart - Begin
Brodie - Gio
Fistric - Wideman
Butler - Cundari
Ramo/Bera
Mcdonald
Prospects: Baertschi, Gaudreau, Mantha, Barkov, Klimchuk, McCoshen, Reinhart, Jankowski, Kulak, Culkin, Gilles, Broissoit, Ortio, ETC!!!!

There's a good chance Knight and Barkov would be in the lineup for next season if your predictions come true, no?

True. It will be interesting to see in a couple of seasons, which 2015 kids are still ranked that high, and who climbs the charts. Just like this year, we see a guy like Drouin who 2 years ago wasn't on the radar. Or I remember years ago when Langkow was the concensus #1 pick 2 years before his draft year, and then he went 5th overall.
I just hope that if there is a kid with the first name Leon, that we at least take a flyer on him!

Brief article on Nurse. Hope the Oilers don't get this kid. With tons of high end athletes in his family, it's hard to see him not succeeding. I know bloodlines aren't everything, but when surrounded by that many successful athletes growing up you know how much work is required.

I love this kid's swagger. I know that a #1 centreman is the organizational need but there's just something about this kid...

I see the Oilers taking him, unless Carolina snaps him up... or we do. I've seen two very recent mock drafts in which Calgary picks Nurse. I don't see it happening, and I would prefer a good C at 6, but if the Flames went with Nurse I wouldn't mind too much but would want the Flames to double up on C at 22 and 28.

Listening to the fan last night, in their mock draft Loubardias took Horvat with the Flames #6 pick.....and that was with both Monahan and Lindholm still on the board.
Jones
MacKinnon
Drouin
Barkov
Nichushkin
Horvat
....was the top six.
Don't see it, but who knows?

Jim Diamond @diamondhockey 48m Preds would take jones if he fell to them. Poile considers him best player in the draft.
Jim Diamond @diamondhockey 46m
Four or five teams have made legitimately good offers for Preds #4 pick.
